Night of Champions begins now. A video package highlights the Batista/Edge and Cena/Triple H feuds.

We are live in Dallas, Texas, and our hosts are Jim Ross, Mick Foley, Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler, Tazz and Mike Adamle.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: John Morrison and The Miz vs. Finlay and Hornswoggle

Finlay and Morrison start us off and Finlay grabs a headlock and gets a knock down, and floors Morrison with a European uppercut. He works the arm and nails a clothesline for 1.Scoop and a slam now by Finlay. He grabs a double nerve hold, but Morrison fights back, tries a plancha to the floor but Finlay catches him on the apron and drills him. Miz grabs Hornswoggle as a distraction allowing Morrison to floor Finlay with a clothesline. The champs chase Horny up the ramp, catch him and toss him in the ring. He throws his jacket at them and Finlay makes the save with a double clothesline. Finlay uses Horny as a weapon and they clean house. Finlay goes out and gets Morrison but walks into a big dropkick. Miz in now and they hit their double gutbuster for a 2 count. Miz locks in a chinlock, then the champs hit their catapult forearm/slingshot elbow combo for 2. Miz with a kick to the gut now. Finlay telegraphs Miz and hits an atomic drop. Horny in and gets a tilt-a-whirl head scissors. He nails a stunner and follows up with a wheelbarrow bulldog for 2. Morrison gets a kick from the outside and Horny goes down. Miz rides Horny and slaps him. Morison in and beats on Horny, tossing him into the turnbuckle. Miz in now but Horny fights back with forearms, but walks into a double clothesline. Miz chokes Horny in the corner now but misses his corner clothesline. Miz gets the tag out and Morrison stops Horny coming in. Slap by Morrison. And more slaps. He scoops him up but Horny counters and goes between the legs and tags Finlay. He cleans house and hits a snap powerslam for 2. Morrison comes back but charges into a boot and Finlay hits a dropkick from the second rope for 2. Finlay Roll connects, and Finlay takes Miz out. CELTIC CROSS! Horny in, Miz knocks Finlay off the apron, and Morrison catches Horny on the top and slams him. That’s all she wrote.

The King and Cole shows us highlights of Cena/Triple H I from Mania 22.

WWE United States Championship Match: Matt Hardy vs. Chavo Guerrero w/ Bam Neely

They circle and lock up and Chavo scores a quick roll up. They lock up again and Hardy grabs a side headlock and works that over for a while, then gets a shoulder knock down. Chavo backs off and they lock up once again and Chavo gets a side headlock takeover and rides it. Hardy works his way up and wrenches the arm, sends Chavo to the corner and hits a slam and a fist drop for a 0 count. Chavo comes off the ropes but gets caught with a big back body drop. Hardy gets shoved off of a bulldog attempt and Chavo gets a big chop block. He drops some elbows on Hardy’s knee, and wraps the knee around the ring rope. Boots to Hardy now, and then Chavo slingshots over the ropes bringing his weight down on the knee. Chavo slams that knee off the ring post now. Chavo distracts the ref and Neely wraps the knee around the post once more. Chavo gets a 2 count. Chavo goes back to te knee now and wrenches it but Hardy WILL NOT DIE. Hardy kicks Chavo off but Chavo goes back to the knee with kicks. Hardy slugs away and hits a bulldog! That gets a 1 count. Chavo pulls the leg out from under Matt and picks him apart with kicks. Chavo goes back to the knee and drives his own into the injured limb of Hardy. Matt kicks him off and sends him to the floor, but Chavo hangs him up on the top rope. Hardy avoids a frog splash and catches Chavo with a clothesline. Both men beat the count and slug it out in the ring and Hardy gets a couple of knock downs and an elbow drop for 2. Side Effect is blocked and Chavo gets an uppercut. Both men battle over a backslide, Chavo rolls over the top but gets caught with a SIDE EFFECT for 2! Hardy limps to the second rope and hits the elbow to the head for another 2 count. Chavo shoves him to the corner but runs into an elbow. Hardy up top again but gets pulled off. Chavo applies a half-boston crab and Matt drags himself to the bottom rope. Kicks by Chavo now, to the knee, until Matt comes back, tries a Twist of Fate, that’s blocked, DDT by Matt! That gets 2. He wants the Twist of Fate but gets shoved off and Chavo rolls through into the half crab again. Matt crawls and WILL NOT DIE! He eventually gets the rope. Chavo grabs the leg but Matt hits an enzuigiri. Both men up, three amigo tries by Chavo, he gets 2, but Matt hits the TWIST OF FATE before he can get the third, and that gets the win!

Winner: Matt Hardy @ 9:21

We get highlights of Vince’s accident from Raw. We will get a statement on his condition on Raw tomorrow night.

ECW Championship Match: Kane vs. Big Show vs. Mark Henry

Kane slugs Henry with an upper cut and then goes right after Show. Kane dodges a charge from Henry and Show takes it. Kane hits Henry with a low dropkick, drills Show and kicks Henry to the floor. Show levels Kane with a clothesline. He follows up with a head butt and big body shots in the corner. Kane and Show trade blows, Kane off the ropes and hits a DDT for 1. Show up and tosses Kane to the floor. Mark Henry over and stalks Kane, but decides to do nothing to him. Henry comes in the ring and he and Show circle. They lock up and it’s a stalemate, because they’re both so strong. They lock up again and Henry grabs the side headlock, tries a shoulder tackle but he can’t budge Show. They lock up again and Show has the headlock this time, and he does knock Henry down off the ropes. Show SLAMS Henry. Adamle – “HAVE MERCY!” Kane is hurt here as doctors are out to check on him. In the ring, Show and Henry slug it out and Show hits a headbut, misses a tackle but Henry goes down anyway. Kane has sent away the doctors but is still down. Goozle by Show, grip broken, and Henry comes back with rights and both men go down following clotheslines. Kane is up and climbing the apron, and hits Henry with a FLYING CLOTHESLINE. Uppercut for Show. Running clotheslines in the corner for both men, but Henry catches him with a bearhug. Kane breaks the grip by going to the eyes and whips Henry into a big boot from Show. DOUBLE GOOZLE! DOUBLE CHOKESLAM! Show covers and Kane breaks it up. Kane covers and Show breaks it up. They square up and brawl! Head butts and rights from both men. Show runs into a big boot and Kane drills him with an ENZUIGIRI! Kane up top now and dives into a GOOZLE! CHOKESLAM TO KANE! Kane kicks out at 2 and a half! SIT UP! Show is freaked. GOOZLE by Kane now. Show comes back and hits a side suplex for another long 2 count. Show is feeling frisky and heads up top. Kane catches him and SUPLEXES BIG SHOW. Henry splashes Kane and WINS!

Winner: And NEW ECW Champion, Mark Henry @ 8:19

Replays show Kane hurt his back on the ring apron earlier in the match.

In the back, Eve asks if Batista’s bringing the gold back to Raw. He says yes. John Cena is here and welcomes Batista back to Raw. He tells him that he may not be the only champion come the end of the night. CM Punk is here and says he hopes they both win, but he has the BRIEFCASE~!

World Tag Team Championship Match: Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly vs. Ted DiBiase and a Mystery Partner

DiBiase has the mic and says his partner is on his way, but we need to wait 10 minutes. He wants to reschedule. He won’t forfeit, so he’ll start on his own.

Rhodes starts, but DiBiase says he wants Hardcore. Holly in via tag. Rhodes spins Holly around and drills him with a DDT! DiBiase introduces his partner, Cody Rhodes! Cody tags DiBiase who locks in the Million Dollar Dream into a leg sweep for 3!

Winners: And NEW World Tag Team Champions, Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes @ 1:30

Rhodes confirms the decision.

Todd Grisham is with JBL in a sky box. JBL says it is his suit. He is pissed because this is Night of Champions and he’s not on the card. Todd says it’s because he’s not a champion. JBL owns his own company and he’s the CEO. He has a penthouse in NYC and with Vince McMahon inactive, he is the richest person in WWE. He is a champion in life. Who else can say that? Mark Cuban? Dallas has produced nothing but failures since he left, like the Dallas Cowboys, who choked in the NFC play-offs to the city of champions, New York City, the home of the Super Bowl champions, the New York Giants. His is Texas’ favourite New York-er. It’s a matter of time until he has championship gold around his waist.

Chris Jericho is here and points out his 8 reigns as IC champion. He will defend tonight against a surprise opponent. He says it won’t be Shawn Michaels. Lance Cade is ringside. Jericho says Shawn couldn’t be bothered to take the 30 minute ride from his hometown because of some “eye injury.” Jericho says he always shows up, but they don’t deserve it. He’s an honest man, unlike them. He guarantees he will have his vindication ad he will save himself from all of the fans.

Intercontinental Championship Match: Chris Jericho vs. Kofi Kingston

Kofi’s stance freaks Jericho out. They lock up and Jericho forces Kofi into the corner and slaps him. Kofi is mad. Jericho tries to get out of the ring as Kofi stalks him. Lock up again, go-behind by Jericho, standing switch by Kofi, reversal into a side headlock takeover by Jericho. Kofi fights his way up to his feet and elbows out of the headlock but gets knocked down as Y2J comes off the ropes. Running forearm by Jericho floors Kofi. Kicks now by Jericho. Jericho tries to toss Kofi but he stops himself, leap frogs Jericho a couple of times and Jericho bails to the floor. Dropkick through the ropes by Kofi! PLANCHA connects! Kofi tosses Jericho back in and goes up top and gets a crossbody for 2. Forearms now by Kofi, leap into the mount position and he fires off in the corner, but Jericho tosses Kofi out and to the floor. Jericho goes out and drives Kofi back-first into the ring apron a few times and rolls him back in. Kick to the back now by Jericho. Jericho drives the shoulder into the gut and whips Kofi hard into the turnbuckles. Cocky kicks now by Jericho. Kofi rolls to the apron and Jericho tries to suplex him back in, that’s blocked and Kofi tries the suplex, but Jericho counters and brings Kofi back in for a 2 count. Measured backbreaker now by Jericho, and he posts Kofi’s back and tries for the submission. Kofi knees his way out and gets some separation. Jericho bounces off the ropes and NAILS Kofi with a dropkick. Y2J chokes Kofi on the ropes and hits his running hotshot. Kofi comes back and the crowd want HBK. Jericho catches Kingston and applies and abdominal stretch. He uses the free hand to slap the ribs. Kofi fights back and hip tosses Jericho! Jericho drop toeholds Kingston into the middle rope and chokes him again by standing on his back. Y2J sets Kofi up top and follows him up there. He tries for a back suplex and Kofi counters into a crossbody for 2! Both men up, and Kofi slugs away, and hits a dropkick. Kofi hits a flying forearm but the animated leg drop is countered into the Walls, but Kofi rolls him up for 2. Knock down by Kofi, Thunder Clap leg drop! That gets 2! Jericho to the corner, Kofi runs into a boot. HURRICANRANA by Kofi gets 2 but Jericho pops up and clotheslines him. Scoop slam now by Jericho… LIONSAULT! He goes back to the Walls and has it locked in! Shawn Michaels is here and hits Lance Cade with SWEET CHIN MUSIC! Shawn gets knocked off the apron by Jericho… TROUBLE IN PARADISE! Kofi wins!

Winner: And NEW Intercontinental Champion, Kofi Kingston @ 11:00

Shawn is hurt on the floor and gets helped up and to the back. Jericho is livid. Referees run down to stop Jericho getting to Shawn. Jericho gets through them and BLASTS him with a right! Shawn writhes in pain.

In the back, La Familia prep for the big title match. Edge runs over his accolades and says he doesn’t need help. All he needs is the love of his beautiful wife and he will leave Batista beaten and empty-handed.

We see the premiere of John Cena and Vince McMahon in the new Gillette commercial.

WWE Women’s Championship Match: Mickie James vs. Katie Lea Burchill

Katie immediately gets a roll up for 1, and a backslide for 1 more, and a schoolgirl for 1 more. They stand off and Mickie gets a waistlock takeover and rides Katie, then gets a roll up for 1. They stand off again. James blocks a kick and hits a forearm, counters a hip toss try into a monkey flip and drills Katie with another forearm and a knockdown. She goes to the top rope but Burchill goes to the floor to get help from brother Paul Burchill. Burchill grounds James for 1 but Mickie comes back with a snapmare and low dropkick to the face for 1. Burchill goes on the attack and works the arm and nails a hammerlock suplex. Burchill stomps on the shoulder now, then wraps the arm around the ring rope. Burchill runs into a back elbow, Mickie tries for a hurricanrana but it is blocked, and Burchill tosses James into the middle turnbuckle. Snapmare now by Katie gets 2. She goes back to the arm and applies an armbar. Mickie fights her way up and hits some forearms and AIR MICKIE! She runs into an elbow now and Burchill gets a takedown for 1. Boots in the corner now. Forearms by Burchill and Mickie is hurting bad. Hard Irish whip into the corner, but now Mickie gets a swank hurricanrana. One-armed clothesline, and another. Mickie ducks a kick, hits a snapmare and a double axe handle for 2. She tries for the DDT but it’s countered into a high-angle armbar. Mickie rolls through but Burchill rolls through the counter. Mickie up and hip tosses out of it. Hammerlock now by Burchill and she sends Mickie into the turnbuckle. Mickie counters a suplex and hits a DDT for the win!

We get a kick ass video package for the Edge/Batista feud. On the text vote, 31% of fans think that Batista will be the only man to bring gold back to Raw.

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Edge vs. Batista

Collar and elbow tie-up and Batista shoves Edge down to the mat. Edge backs off and gets up and they circle. Lock up into a headlock for Edge but he goes down from a shoulder block and scurries to the corner so the referee tells Batista to back off. Edge up and they circle and lock up again. Batista overpowers Edge and sends him to the outside. Edge runs around the ring and gets caught coming back in, kicks Batista away and misses a baseball slide to the outside. Batista slams him into the guardrail and rolls him back in. Batista gets a 2 count off of a back elbow. Edge gets sent sternum-first into the turnbuckle and that gets a 2 count. Snapmare now by Batista and he hits a running kick to the face of Edge. Batista hooks Edge up and hits a JACKHAMMER for 2. Edge stops short on the ropes and gets clotheslined to the floor. Batista rolls him back in and gets kicked on the apron, and Edge tosses Batista into the ringpost! Turning point in the match-up~! Edge’s baseball slide sends Batista very theatrically over the ECW announce table and Batista has paper sticking to his back, bah gawd! Batista rolls back in to break the count but Edge meets him with boots. Edge chokes him over the middle rope now and hits that body block across the rope that we saw on Friday’s SmackDown. Edge to the floor now and delivers rights. On the apron now and he drops an elbow across the throat. Batista catches Edge with a shoulder thrust from the apron, back in and he fights back with rights, but Edge catches him with a drop toehold to slow the Animal down, and he follows up with a swinging neckbreaker for 2. Edge throws on a chinlock now as the fans try and fail to get behind Batista. Batista gets to his feet and drives Edge into the turnbuckle. Batista charges but Edge hits another drop toehold to send The Animal face-first into the middle turnbuckle. Edge picks him up and drills him with a forearm, then bounces his head off of the top turnbuckle. Big right now by Edge, one from Batista. Neckbreaker by Edge now, and that gets 2. And back to the chinlock we go. Batista again works his way up, tires a powerslam, Edge counters, tires for the Edge-O-Matic, that’s countered into a snapmare, but now Edge leaps over a charge and gets a sunset flip for 2, and follows up with a clothesline. Edge snaps Batista’s neck over the top rope now, but runs right into a clothesline. Both men beat the referee’s ten count, and Batista drives Edge into the corner and hits shoulder thrusts. To the opposite corner and he hits a clothesline. Edge avoids a charge but gets caught with a spinning side slam for 2. Batista gets telegraphed but hits a SPEAR! That gets 2. Batista Bomb countered, but Batista hits a powerslam! THUMBS DOWN! Edge counters the Bomb into an Impaler DDT! That gets a long 2 count. Edge sets up for a Spear but runs into a big boot! Batista to the top rope now and dives into a DROPKICK IN MID-AIR! Both men take their time getting up, and here come Hawkins, Ryder and Vickie. Spear try, leap frog by Batista, SPINEBUSTER! Vickie grabs the referee to stop the count. Batista sends Edge into the ring post. The referee counts Edge out, but Edge pulls him to the floor and drops the ref with a right. Vickie calls for a new referee, and it’s Chavo Guerrero! Batista grabs Vickie! He pulls her into the ring and La Familia warn him off, but don’t actually do anything. Batista tosses her out onto La Familia! Edge drills Batista with the title! Chavo in and counts 3!

Todd Grisham asks Triple H for his final thoughts. He’s going to go out there and do what he should have done two years ago. Video package time!

WWE Championship Match: Triple H vs. John Cena
Triple H seems to be the favourite here, with the fans at least. Collar and elbow tie-up, into a headlock by The Game. Cena sends him off and gets knocked down by The Game. Triple H is very orange tonight. Lock up again, into a headlock by Triple H this time. He works that over for a while, Cena sends him off and falls victim to another shoulder knock down. They run the ropes and Cena tries a hip toss but it’s blocked and The Game hip tosses Cena. SUCK IT! They stand off now and Cnea is frustrated. Head lock by Cena and this time he powers out of the grip and into a headlock of his own. Trips tries to send him off but Cena cinches in on the hold. The Game gets a hold of the ropes, now sends Cena off and Cena gets the shoulder knock down. Now Cena blocks a hip toss from The Game and drills him with a clothesline. The Game shoves Cena who comes back with a spear and big right hands. Kick to the gut by Cena, big fisherman’s suplex gets 2. Cena gets telegraphed, ducks a clothesline and connects with a shoulder tackle, but The Game ducks another and Cena falls all the way to the floor! To the floor now and Triple H drives Cena into the ring apron, then they go back in. The Game drops a knee in the small of the back of Cena. Back up now and The Game hits an ugly backbreaker. Front facelock by Triple H now and he takes Cena over with a suplex. Trips drops an elbow into the back of Cena, and follows that up with another. The Game whips Cena hard into the corner and Cena buckles under the force. The Game bides his time then sneds Cena into the opposite corner and gets another 2 count. The Game brings Cena back up and bounces his head off the turnbuckle and then drills him with measure rights. Cena comes back with right hands and sends The Game into the corner, but he over zealously runs into a boot. The Game goes to the second ropes and jumps into Cena’s boot now! Two shoulder tackles by Cena, followed up by the Protoplex! Cena blocks the 5KS, and catches Cena off the ropes with a high knee. Cena reverses a whip and gets caught with the facebuster! Pedigree try, countered with a kick to the gut, THROWBACK! Cena heads up top and hits the flying fameasser! Cena tries for the STFU but The Game kicks him off, wary of tapping out again. Cena ducks a clothesline and hits a second PROTOPLEX! “You can’t see me!” The Game up, HIGH KNEE! Harley Race-like! SPINEBUSTER by The Game! Triple H stalks the challenger, kick to the gut, Cena counters, whips The Game into the corner and he goes all the way over the top turnbuckle and to the floor! The Game immediately grabs the knee, the referee checks on him and decides he’s OK. Triple H rolls in and out again, but breaks the count. Cena goes to the floor and chop blocks The Game, killing any fears of a legit injury. Cena drops the knee on the steel steps, then wraps The Game’s knee around the post. Cena thinks about it then does it again. He goes for the STFU but The Game already has the ropes. Cena goes back to the knee with a chopblock. The Game kicks him away but Cena holds onto the leg. Trips kicks him off again but Cena has a firm hold on that leg and now Cena goes for the STUF again, almost gets it but Triple H has the ropes. Cena calls ofr the FU, Triple H slides out the back, PEDIGREE! But he is too hurt to get the cover right away. He crawls across, one…two…thr-NO! Cena kicks out! The ref counts both men and they’re both up at 9. FU! Cena’s hurt, recovers, covers, one…two…thr-NO! That was close stuff. The referee counts both men again and again they both barely beat the count, but beat the count they do. Right by Cena and down goes The Game. Right by The Game and Cena buckles. “Boo!” “Yay!” “Boo!” “Yay!” “Boo!” “Yay” “Boo!” “Yay!” And so on… “Yay!” “Yay!” “Yay!” “Yay!” Cena ducks a clothesline, “Boo!” PROTOPLEX. FIVE KNUCKLE SHUFFLE finally connects! Cena wants the FU, gets him up, but Cena holds onto the ropes. Pedigree try, countered… STFU! STFU! Cena wrenches back and The Game is in trouble. He reaches and gets the ropes, so Cena pulls him back to the middle. Triple H blocks it… gets on top of Cena… CRIPPLER CROSSFACE! Cena fights… he’s fading. Cena powers up and hoists The Game up… Triple H elbows out of the FU, PEDIGREE! It’s over!
