WWE Monday Night Raw
Tribute to the Troops 2007

-A very nice video package opens the show.

-This is a bare bones recap tonight kids because it is tribute to the troops and I wasn’t scheduled to recap the show.

-Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler are the commentators from WWE Studios.

Non-Title Match: Randy Orton © vs. Chris Jericho

Jericho dominates early to the pleasure of the troops. Jericho tries to work the arm, but Orton fires back and takes Jericho down. Off the ropes, roll up and walls of Jericho try stopped as Orton gets to the ropes. Jericho with a baseball slide and Orton hits the barrier. Springboard PLANCHA by Jericho! Jericho gets a camera from a troop and takes a picture of a beaten Orton, tremendous. Back in and Orton catches Jericho with a kick and goes for and gets the hangman’s DDT.

After a commercial and Jericho is fighting back, but Orton gets a knee to the gut. Orton stomp now, Jericho makes it to his feet and chops away at Orton. Orton manages a sleeper to counter, works Jericho to the mat and is in control. Orton works more of a chinlock now on the ground, Jericho fights to his feet and elbows out. Back suplex by Jericho and he has escaped. Both men fight to their feet, rights by Jericho and then chops. Off the ropes and a forearm by Jericho. Shoulder tackle and a forearm gets a cover for 2. 2nd rope missile dropkick by Jericho for a close 2. Off the ropes and Orton misses a dropkick, Walls of Jericho try and Orton gets a roll up for 2. Enziguri by Jericho, a bulldog connects and then the lionsault FOR 2! Eye poke by Orton, 3.0 back breaker connects and the champ now stalks Jericho for an RKO. RKO countered, Walls of Jericho! JBL’s music hits and he is out with a mic. He says usually this match would be enough, but he is here because people came to see him.

Jericho attacks JBL, but eats an RKO from Orton. JBL loses the jacket and then kills Jericho with the clothesline from hell!

Winner: Chris Jericho via DQ

-We see a video package of the wrestlers visiting the troops and the dangers of being there. HBK is particular is moved because they say they grew up watching him and now they fight for him. Rey gives a solider a cross and tells him to wear it everyday until he makes it home.

-And we’re back for another match!

Non-Title Match: Carlito vs. Jeff Hardy©

Carlito tries to avoid Jeff to begin. To the corner and Jeff catches Carlito and lays the boots to him. Jeff is sporting some funky face paint this evening. A side headlock by Jeff, off the ropes and a shoulder tackle to Carlito. To the corner, boots by Jeff and then a slam to Carlito for 2. Atomic drop and then the leg drop to the nads by Jeff gets 2. To the corner, lefts by Carlito off the ropes and Jeff to the floor and high fives the troops. Jeff back in, Carlito to the floor and a baseball slide dropkick to Carlito. A clothesline off the apron connects for Jeff. Back in and mounted punches in the corner by Jeff, but then misses the corner dropkick and hits hard. Boots by Carlito, an Irish whip and lefts by Carlito. Another and the whisper in the wind by Jeff. Both men fight to their feet, forearms by Jeff and then off the ropes with a lariat for 2. Jeff gets the corner dropkick and covers for 2. TOF countered into the roll of the dice by Carlito for 2. Carlito gets the apple, eats but Jeff gets a jawbreaker. TOF by Jeff, up top…SWANTON connects and that is all.

Winner: Jeff Hardy via pin

-We get another video package with the WWE guys with the troops.

-We’re back with a video package, showing a soldier discussing a suicide bombing. Just 4-days after the attacks the building was re-opened to serve meals. 19-people died in the attack.

-Vince McMahon makes his way to the ring in a SWANK Red jacket! SANTA VINCE~! He says this is their chance to pay tribute to the troops. The WWE supports them no matter where they are. Speaking of action, there will be a divas match NEXT!

Layla and Kelly Kelly vs. Maria and Mickie James

I guess Layla and Kelly have put their animosity aside so that they can entertain the troops. I can appreciate that. JIP with Layla and Maria going at it. Maria tackle Layla, they roll around and everyone is happy. Kelly in, and Maria gets an arm bar and tags Mickie in. She gets an ax smash to the arm, Kelly misses her cart wheel back flip deal and Mickie spanks her. Everyone is in, they get slammed to corners and then do dueling bronco busters.

Vince now breaks up the action to a chorus of boo’s. He thinks that they have seen enough, and he is in charge. He says what he says goes. He regrets to inform us that Santa is NOT coming to Iraq this year.

Santa now appears with a sling on. Santa says Vince has been naughty this year because he tried to sabotage Santa’s slay. Unfortunately for Vince the sleigh was built Army strong and he IS here! He has bad news for Vince. Since Vince was a kid, he has always hated Santa because Vince has always been a bad boy. He remembers little Vince walking into a store, and he sees all. Vince stole something from that store. Little Vince stole a magazine. Not just any magazine, a very naughty magazine. Santa didn’t forget and knows Vince has always been bad. Vince says he isn’t the real Santa. Santa says he has proof. He has a letter written by young Vince to Santa. Santa says it is 100 years old, and they chant OLD AS DIRT at Vince.

Dear Santa,
I would love a rooster. A giant rooster. PS. Can I have a red rider B.B. gun?

It is revealed to be Cena and he gives Vince a ONE ARMED FU~! Merry Christmas Vince. Cena says no one can ruin Christmas. He has his big and bulging sack, and he asks the ladies to help him spread the Christmas Cheer since he has a bad arm. They toss shirts, DVD’s and other stuff to the troops.

Winners: No Contest

-Earlier in the day, they held a reenlistment ceremony in the ring.

-We get a Christmas video with the troops and WWE people.

-We then see the former Iraqi Soccer Stadium. A legend says after a major loss, Sadam had the team executed.

Rey Mysterio vs. Mark Henry

Rey appears from the crowd ala his old jumping out of the sky entrance. He then crowd dives! His gear is all “CAMO” and shit, nice. They really dig Rey. Henry tosses Rey down to kick off the match. Rey fights back and is tossed down again. Henry corners Rey and beats him down in the corner. Rey fights back, kicks to Henry and then a dropkick and that does nothing. A press slam by Henry and Rey is down. Henry covers with one foot for 2. He then walks over the chest of Rey, and then applies the bear hug. Rey bites Henry, escapes and then is leveled by a clothesline and Henry covers for 2. Of the ropes and Henry misses the world’s strongest splash. Kicks by Rey to the head of Henry, and then the seated senton for 2. More kicks by Rey, and then a baseball slide to the balls of Henry. A dropkick by Rey, the 619 connects and then drops the dime. Henry fights back, a trip and a troll up by Rey gets the win.

Winner: Rey Mysterio via pin

-Rey celebrates with the troops.

-We get another video on IED’s and the damage that they can do.

-We see John Cena at a base discussing the jobs the troops are doing currently and some of the stuff they use. Specialist Haley sends a shout out home for the holidays.

-We see the Raw rebound.

-We now see WWE people arriving and the travel they went through to get there. It was a 22 hour trip.

HHH and HBK vs. Umaga and Mr. Kennedy

They are in full DX mode here tonight, and HHH does the whole “Are you Ready” deal and puts over the troops. HBK then adds if you aren’t down with the troops, suck it.

JIP with HBK getting the forearm and kip up on Kennedy. Atomic drop, rights, knocks Umaga off the apron and then slams Kennedy. HBK up top and gets the elbow drop. HBK tunes up the Christian rock band, Umaga in and levels him. Kennedy covers for 2. Kennedy now lays the boots to HBK, tags in Umaga and he head butts HBK and takes him down. A knee drop by Umaga and then a splash connects for 2. Rights by Umaga, chops by HBK but Umaga retains control. A tag to Kennedy, they double team HBK and then Kennedy lays the boots to HBK. Kennedy works the arm, HBK fights, rights to Kennedy and then chops. To the corner, Umaga in now and applies the Vulcan Neck Pinch. HBK works forearm shots, chops to Umaga, but a head butt takes HBK back down. Kennedy tags in, gets a takedown and cover for 2. Kamikaze roll gets 2 for Kennedy. Umaga tags back in, to the 2nd rope and MISSES the splash. Hot tags to HHH and Kennedy. HHH in, cleans house, knee to Kennedy. Knee buster to Umaga. He then slams Umaga off the steel post and gets a spinebuster to Kennedy. Boot, pedigree stopped by Umaga. Samoan Spike stopped by a superkick by HBK, super kick to Kennedy, Pedigree by HHH and he is done.

Winners: DX via pin

-DX celebrates to the happiness of the troops. Some of the troops start to fill the ring for a celebration and that is the show. I guess we just weren’t meant to see the Ron Simmons vs. Hardcore Holly classic that took place.

-One last closing video pakcage runs.
