Cook’s AAA Guerra De Titanes 2025 Review

Hey kids! Steve Cook here with you for AAA’s last event of 2025, Guerra de Titanes! We’ve got seven big matches tonight, with the main event featuring Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio & El Grande Americano taking on Rey Fenix and Rey Mysterio. This match was originally going to see Fenix team up with his brother Penta for the first time in years, but Penta’s injury meant that deadbeat Rey Mysterio could slip in the back door and steal a main event spot. So disgusting. Anywho, we should be in store for some good times tonight!

Cook’s AAA Guerra De Titanes 2025 Review

We open with a hype video for the event. AAA is in Guadalajara tonight, and is global! Lucha Libre is the main event. Tonight, Lucha Libre changes the rules.

Dragon Lee, El Hijo del Vikingo are WALKING! Los Gringos Locos are WALKING! Rey Mysterio & the Lucha Bros are WALKING!

The Pena & Roldan banners are shown with Marsiela Pena in the front row. Corey Graves, JBL & Konnan call the action.

Bravo & Rayo Americano vs. Mr. Iguana & Nino Hamburguesa vs. La Parka & Octagon Jr. vs. Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde: JBL claims that the Americanos were trained by Karl Gotch. Who am I to argue? JBL also loves his cheeseburger boy. We see some social media clips of Mr. Iguana with Bad Bunny. Parka starts the match with some fun dancing while taking on Rayo. Rayo catches himself in the ropes & Bravo comes in for the double team. Double headbutts on Parka. Parka flips up, hits a backbreaker. Tag to Cruz. Cruz works over Bravo, clothesline in the corner. Wilde & Cruz with frequent tags. Big kick in the corner, double suplex by the LWO, Tandem splash gets two. Bravo flips out of a backdrop, tags Hamburguesa. He hits a slam, Iguana tags in, helicopter headscissors to Parka eventually! That was a lot of spins. Wilde ranaed by Iguana, Octagon tags in, they all kip up. The four guys on the apron get kicked to the floor, four dives by the guys in the ring! Parka gets crotched on the ringpost by the Americanos. Octagon gets top rope ranaed into a splash by the Americanos for two! Cruz & Wilde get stopped on the dive attempt by Iguana & Yesca! Iguana & Cruz send Wilde onto them all! Parka’s turn, he walks the ropes and hits the moonsault! Cruz & Octagon go around in a La Magirstral, Cruz gets two out of it. Poison rana by Octagon, Wilde breaks up the count. Wilde takes Iguana & Octagon down. Hamburgesa feeds Wilde, Iguana ranas him. Americanos take over on Hamburgesa and get some heat. Nino clotheslines them both. Nino splashes LWO in the corner, then hits the cannonball! Nino’s Vader Bomb is stopped. Americano lifts Nino in a rack & spins! Spruce Goose by Bravo! Cruz takes Bravo down. Octagon misses in the corner, & Parka joins him with Cruz up top, Spanish Fly! Octagon dives onto the crowd. Parka hits a twisting brainbuster for the three count on Cruz!

Winner: Octagon Jr. & La Parka (9:36 via pinfall)
Match Rating: ***
Graves used the phrase “disorienting” to describe this match, and I kinda have to agree. Lots of wild stuff going on, but it was fun.

La Parka finds Canelo Alvarez in the crowd, and Octagon joins them to celebrate.

We see clips of Ethan Page annoying El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. over the past few months.

AAA Latin American Championship Match: El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. Ethan Page: I do appreciate how Konnan still holds grudges with people like Ethan over TNA business. Not one of Wagner’s better entrances. Hijo del Tirantes is the official here, might be bad news for Wagner. Quite the back & forth to start. Wagner with a shot in the corner, then a dropkick to Ethan’s back for two. Wagner with an arm wringer, he walks the ropes but Ego powerslams him to the mat. Ego rips at the Wagner mask! Wagner with a suplex. Wagner runs into a boot, then hits a running headbutt, clothesline & flapjack. Cover gets 2. Wagner gets some punches from Ego, they trade shots. Yay/boo! Boot by Ego, Lariat by Wagner! A sitout powerbomb gets 2 for Wagner! Wagner hits a moonsault for two. Ego slips out of a powerslam and turns Wagner’s mask backwards! He powerbombs Wagner and the ref counts two. Ego grabs the belt outside, has a belt and a wrench with him! The belt finds the belt, but not the wrench! Ego hits Wagner in the chest with the wrench! The referee counts three! HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE I-

Hold on, here’s Mr. Iguana! He tells Tirantes what Ego did! The referee listens and decides to re-start the match! Wagner Driver! The referee counts three, and the champion retains!

Winner: El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. (5:50 total via pinfall)
Match Rating: **
Yeah, I’m not really sure what to make of all that. It kinda worked because the cheater had to pay at the end, but the whole thing felt a little rushed. More time might have made it more coherent. The action was good, but like the story it felt rushed. Only six minutes for these guys seems odd.

El Hijo del Vikingo & Dragon Lee are shown warming up backstage. The Spanish announcers talk to us for a minute, then we go to a video package of the Clowns & the Wyatt Sicks.

Carnival of Carnage Match: The Wyatt Sicks (Uncle Howdy, Dexter Lumis, Joe Gacy & Erick Rowan) vs. Pagano, Psycho Clown, Murder Clown & Dave the Clown: The fireflies are out in Guadalajara. The clown music plays for awhile, which leads to Psycho telling us on the screen that he’ll welcome us to the carnival of destruction. The bell rings and the Sicks walk up the ramp back to the locker room. They enter what appears to be a children’s carnival. Psycho welcomes them inside, and Gacy runs right in to fight with Psycho. Psycho wins the fight, and Pagano, Dave & Murder attack the other three Sicks. Mascarita Sagadra joins in! He attacks the Wyatts! Gacy kicks Mascarita in the head! Lumis kicks Psycho in the head maybe. Rowan & Lumis attack the friendly vendo, and the clowns attack again. Pagano gets powerbombed through a bunch of tables & stuff. Gacy & Lumis pull down a curtain, and Pimpinela appears! She kisses Gacy! Pimpi celebrates while Gacy & Lumis attack Murder Clown. Rowan slams Psycho on the ramp. The Clowns get rolled down to the ring. Murder gets sent into the ringpost. Psycho gets beatdown in the ring. Rowan splashes him in the corner, Gacy with a clothesline. Lumis with a senton. Rowan gets the table. Murder fights the Sicks in the ring, he faces off with big Rowan. Punches! Rowan avoids a Samoan drop and spin kicks Murder down. Murder leaves the ring & Psycho gets a powerbomb/suplex combo! Psycho is almost down, but Pagano is seen limping down the aisle! He wipes folks out with a kendo stick. Psycho & Murder join him. Dave dives! Pagano dives! Monster dives! Psycho with a La Magistral on Howdy, gets two, Howdy with a clothesline. Psycho whips the Sicks with his weight belt! He changes masks! Psycho DVDs Lumis through the table for the three count!

Winners: Pagano, Psycho Clown, Murder Clown & Dave the Clown (10:27 via pinfall)
Match Rating: **1/4
A complete freaking trainwreck, but it’s not like I was expecting something else. The Pimpi & Mascarita bits were my favorite parts, your mileage might vary.

Pagano has some rough words for Psycho afterwards. Not sure what that’s all about, but Konnan suggests they have an unfinished history.

Pentagon apologizes that he can’t compete tonight. Fenix says Penta’s health is more important than anything else, and Rey Mysterio is going to take his place. Penta will be in their corner.

We see a video package showing the matches leading up to our next match. Laredo Kid needed some challengers, and he got some.

AAA Cruiserweight Championship Triple Threat Match: Laredo Kid (c) vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Jack Cartwheel: Evans’ taunt during his in-ring intro was chef’s kiss. 10/10 no notes. Cartwheel’s a solid 9. Lotta cartwheels. Laredo? Laredo? What the hell was that? 3 at best, just boring & uninteresting. I expected more. Laredo elbowblocks Jack, Jack gets both guys in a cradle. Double crucifix by Evans gets two. Kip ups all around, missed dropkicks, Indy standoff! Cartwheel clotheslines Laredo on the clothesline, headscissors Evans out of the ring. Laredo with a strike. Jack goes all around the world while hanging on the ropes, hits a senton on Laredo for two. I have no idea what all that was. Evans hits Jack, Evans kicks him down, bounces Laredo into a rana and dropkick. Evans removes the shirt, wanted a dive, but Jack comes back in, hits the neckbreaker. Then it’s a space flying tiger drop to Laredo! Slingshot 450 gets two! Laredo smashes Jack in the corner, hits a flipping DDT for two! Evans broke the count, he & Laredo go to the apron. Punches, then Evans with a Cody Cutter on the apron! Evans dives onto Jack on the floor, rolls him in the ring, goes up top and hits a frog splash for two! Evans & Jack go back and forth, nearfalls, Jack lands on the floor. Evans is sent out by Laredo, he goes up top and hits the moonsault! Laredo sends them back into the ring. Evans is dropped on top of Jack, Laredo goes up top, hits the 450! Cover on Evans gets two, and Evans doesn’t exactly look great. Laredo & Jack fight in the corner, Evans joins them, electric chair gets two. Superkicks exchanged! Red Dot for Cartwheel! Laredo & Evans kick each other down! They rise up, Evans kicks Jack! Jack hits a crazy DDT on Laredo. Cartwheel into a superkick on Evans. Jack up top, Laredo follows him. Jack wins the battle, Phoenix splash into a Cody Cutter by Evans! Another one on Laredo gets a two count! Evans gets Jack up top, Jack fights him off. Laredo knocks Jack, then hits a freaking reverse DDT kinda thing off the top what the hell was that? It wins.

Winner: Laredo Kid (12:31 via pinfall)
Match Rating: ****
My match recap sucks because that was just too awesome. These guys pulled out all the stops, it kicked ass, good luck to whoever’s next.

It was like a crossface chickenwing that flipped off the top rope. Craziness.

Dominik Mysterio puts himself over for AAA’s new TV deal. It’ll air on Fox in Mexico City per Graves. We have Alexa Grasso in attendance! I usually ignore the celebrities at these things but I’ll make exceptions when needed.

Natalya, Lola Vice & Faby Apache vs. Flammer, La Hiedra & Maravilla: Natalya is in Nattie mode tonight, which is kinda like Brie Mode except really not like it at all. Good golly, I had something to say about Lola Vice that would have been eloquent and insightful, but I’ve completely forgotten what it was. Oh well, maybe next time. Nattie takes the offensive early, Lola tags in and hits some offense, and Faby tags in to hit some kicks and a backslide for two. Shining wizard! Hiedra getting worked over early. Lola with rapid fire kicks. Flammer gets some as well. Running hip attacks and a back suplex, but Flammer is not the legal competitor. Lola gets worked over on the floor. Hiedra smashes her on the steps. Downward Spiral gets two on Lola. Lola gets worked over in the corner while her partners distract the referee. Lola gets dropkicked in the back. The Toxicas take Lola down. Lola gets smashed in the corner and crotched on the ringpost. Lola gets kicked on the floor. Maravilla slams Lola. Flammer yanks Faby off the apron, but Nattie gets the tag anyway, leg sweeps Flammer. Nattie powerbombs Flammer for two. Faby tags in, double Hart Attack gets two. Faby backbreaks Flammer. Flammer runs into a boot, cover gets two. Flammer fights back, dropkicks Faby right in the midsection in the corner for two. Lola with a backfist, Flammer stomps Lola down. Faby & Flammer back & forth. Faby hits a dragon suplex for three!

Winner: Natalya, Lola Vice & Faby Apache (7:40 via pinfall)
Match Rating: **1/2
I’m convinced none of the announcers knew which Toxica was which. The similar gear didn’t help here. Pretty good action throughout, I continue to be especially impressed by Lola but the other people did their part too.

Lola celebrates & dances with Marsiela while Nattie & Faby raise each others’ hands. Smart girl, that Lola Vice. We then see a video package with the issues between Dragon Lee & Hijo del Vikingo.

Dragon Lee vs. El Hijo del Vikingo: Vikingo is wearing a Grinch mask tonight, as he plans to steal Christmas from all the little good Dragons out there. Lee’s father is at ringside this evening. Lee attacks right away, kicks Vikingo down in the corner. Vikingo with a big clothesline! JBL marks out! Vikingo goes to work on Lee & taunts the crowd. Lee gets kicked to the floor. Vikingo dances to the fans taunts and sends Lee into the steps. Vikingo starts moving furniture at ringside, but Dragon evades a dive and Vikingo smashes the stairs. Back in the ring. Another clothesline by Vikingo turns the tide. Vikingo ties Lee’s mask to the bottom rope and stomps Lee. The tail of the mask has been removed, and now Lee is pissed! Rana by Dragon. Dropkick sends Vikingo outside. Vikingo back in, dropkicks Lee to the floor. Arabian Press to the floor by Vikingo. Vikingo Wastelands Lee on the floor. Vikingo with a running shooting star to the floor. Rolls Lee back in the ring, Vikingo up top, shooting star press gets two. Vikingo tears at Dragon’s mask. Dragon blocks a move, Vikingo with a kick, Lee with a snap German suplex. Vikingo with a kick and a Poison rana. Lee with a sitout Liger bomb! Two count! Lee with a half crab! Vikingo eventually gets to the ropes. They meet on top of the turnbuckle. Vikingo sets up a superplex, Lee drops out of it, gets Vikingo in position for the double stomp! Lee holding his leg, let’s hope he’s just really selling the heck out of it. He’s back up in the ring though. Yup, there he goes with the mothafreaking Homicide Dive! Dragon rolls Vikingo back in the ring, motions for his big move, hits the running elbow! It only gets two! Dragon with a chop, he lifts Vikingo, Vikingo gets out. Vikingo kicks Lee from the apron, crossbody is caught by Lee and it ends up in a crucifix driver by Vikingo! Meteora by Vikingo. 450 rolled through by Lee, they roll into a Styles Clash by Lee! Vikingo kicks out at two. Lee jumps over the ropes onto Vikingo and ranas him to the floor! Dragon does another dive, but this time Vikingo shoves the referee in the way! Vikingo smacks Lee down and rolls him in the ring. Vikingo gets a chair! Vikingo misses, Dragon hits the Operation Dragon, but there’s no referee to count! Vikingo is down for many seconds! Lee looks at the downed referee. Vikingo with the foul! Hold on, we got Omos walking to the ring? Who’s side is he on? Is he going after AJ Styles’ new best friend? Apparently, since Lee attacks right away! That was dumb, Lee gets the Last Ride. 450 splash by Vikingo, they still haven’t awakened the referee. Omos just gets him and they count 3.

Winner: El Hijo del Vikingo (17:50 via pinfall)
Match Rating: ***3/4
I wasn’t a huge fan of the finish, but these guys had things cooking for awhile. Vikingo’s new character is working for him. I do like the idea of Omos doing things more regularly, he could do real well here.

Dorian Roldan makes his way to the ring! He & Vikingo hug, and Omos joins them in the hand-raising. JBL calls it the most dangerous alliance in the world, the brains, the brawn & the future all together. Dorian trash talks Dragon Lee & his family. Dorian welcomes us to the new version of El Ojo. (Dorian’s had a ton of heel factions. His most recent was El Ojo, featuring the usual suspects in these factions. Recently, Dorian expelled all the old members, and is replacing them with Vikingo & Omos. Sounds like a decent idea.)

Dominik Mysterio & El Grande Americano vs. Rey Fenix & Rey Mysterio: Dom & Americano claim to be Los Gringos Locos 2.0, and they have the ring attire to back it up tonight. Dom is in all his glory and holds up the AAA banner of the original Gringos Locos. A mariachi band precedes the entrance of Rey Fenix & presumably his son. Let’s just hope Fenix isn’t asking his tag team partner for advice on that front. The Reys get all the attention from everyone in the front row. The pre-match graphic still features Penta, whoopsies. Fenix & Americano face off. Fenix with an ab stretch, Americano takes him down, Fenix into a hammerlock. Americano with a headlock takeover, headscissors by Fenix, standoff. Americano with a hammerlock to Fenix. Americano with a headstand, some leg claps and a bridge back to the hammerlock. Fenix with a rana. Rana by Americano, back & forth another standoff. Tags to Rey & Dom! Dom exits the ring and soaks in the heat. Rey leads a chant against Dom. Dom gets back in the ring and tags out. Rey flips out of an armwringer, Americano gets Rey on the mat, Rey with a sunset flip for two. Dropkick & rana to Americano. The Reys doubleteam, a page out of the Lucha Bros playbook gets two. Dom trips Rey on the ropes & Americano sentons Fenix. Dom tags in and clubbers on Fenix. More clubberin after some flexin. Americano tags in and elbows Fenix down. Fenix with a big shot, and Americano responds with punch/kick. Slap in the corner by Americano gets two. Vertical suplex by Americano, Dom with the hilo. Cover gets two. Dom holds Fenix from the tag. Dropkick to a seated Fenix gets two. Americano PKs Fenix for two. Fenix finally fights back with a superkick, but he can’t get the tag since Dom knocked Rey to the ground. Americano keeps the offense going, Fenix with an enziguri off the ropes that hits both Dom & Americano! Rey tags in! Rana on Dom! Mounted punches in the corner, ten of them by Rey! A shimmy! Kick by Dom, Rey rolls through the sunset flip and kicks Dom. Moonsault gets two. Dom kicked into the ropes, but he blocks Rey’s 619 with a clothesline. One amigo! Two! Rey blocks the third with a DDT! Cover gets two! Fenix tags in and smacks Dom in the corner. Tag to Rey, seated senton from a Fenix powerbomb! Americano breaks the count. Fenix ab stretches Americano in the ropes! Dom with a Michinoku Driver on Rey! Fenix breaks the count. Fenix with a spin kick to Dom! Americano with a kick to Fenix, Rey with the bulldog on Americano. Rey sends Dom into the corner, then goes up top. Dom crotches him into the Tree of Woe. Dom goes for Rey’s mask! Americano gets something out of his tights! There’s Penta! The fans go crazy! Fenix kicks Americano off the apron! Penta loads his mask and headbutts Dom! Fenix dives onto Americano! 619 on Dom! Rey drops the dime on his own son & wins the match!

Winners: Rey Fenix & Rey Mysterio (17:28 via pinfall)
Match Rating: ***3/4
As Konnan said on commentary, this was meant to send the fans home happy. On that note, it certainly succeeded. It’d kind of be a shame if the Dom/Americano association ended this early, but they can probably find other things for Americano to do if they feel like it.

Dom shoves Americano down! He takes his title belts and exits the arena. Penta yells at a dejected Americano. Americano pauses while the fans chant for him. Americano shakes Rey Mysterio’s hand and walks off. He did not shake the Lucha Bros hands, for whatever that might be worth. Canelo’s son enters the ring dressed as Penta as our show comes to an end!

Many have written about the changes in AAA since WWE took over. I felt this event showcased a lot of things about the old AAA, for better or worse. We saw some pretty fantastic matches. I'd recommend that Cruiserweight title match to anybody, and Laredo & Vikingo put on a show too. There was also some stuff that made absolutely no sense. Vintage AAA! It'll be interesting to see what happens here in 2026 with their new TV deal in Mexico that should be better for them.
