Backstage Note on Other Wrestling Promotions Using the Bullet Club

We’ve seen the Bullet Club in NJPW, plus the Bullet Club Gold in AEW. So, how exactly does it work with the stable appearing in promotions outside of New Japan Pro-Wrestling? The latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A has some clarity on how that works.
Although the stable still exists as NJPW’s IP, New Japan allows other wrestlers and promotions to use the name. Fightful also notes that wrestling companies can’t market the Bullet Club without their permission.
However, it’s stated that NJPW provides room to wrestlers and people who have been in the group before some creative liberty to use the name. That likely explains how former member and leader Jay White can use the Bullet Club Gold moniker in AEW.
However, the group originally called the Bullet Club Gold was later quietly rebranded into the Bang Bang Gang.
The Bang Bang Gang currently consists of Juice Robinson, Jay White, Colten & Austin Gunn, and the newest member, Ace Austin. However, Jay White and Colten are currently out of action due to injury.
Additionally, at WWE Crown Jewel Perth, John Cena wrote a special ring introduction for his opponent, AJ Styles, which introduced the former WWE Champion as “the ace and undisputed boss of the Bullet Club.”
