Backstage Notes From This Week’s AEW Dynamite, TV Plans for Willow Nightingale & Steven Borden

– Fightful Select has some backstage notes and details from this week’s AEW Dynamite: Rebel Heart show. Despite dealing with a legitimate broken hand injury that she suffered before AEW All In: London, Willow Nightingale still appeared at the show last Wednesday.

Nightingale appeared during a segment with Thekla and Mercedes Mone. After Thekla started insulting her, Nightingale made her way to the ring, chasing Thekla off.

Fightful reports that AEW plans to continue using Nightingale on TV while her broken hand heals. Additionally, AEW reportedly planned to have her remain on TV from the time she suffered the injury.

– Indie wrestler Tatevik, aka Tatevik Hunanyan, was one of the extras who appeared with Andrade El Idolo this week. Fightful noted that she’s appeared with Andrade multiple times over the past month. Another talent who has appeared as one of the extras who escorts Andrade to the ring is Amaris Blair, who appeared with him twice last week.

– Steven Borden, the son of Sting, was also featured on AEW Dynamite this week in a promo segment with Darby Allin. Fightful Select notes that Borden is moving “full steam ahead as an on-screen wrestler” in AEW. Borden’s reportedly been training for the ring for over two years now.

– Lastly, Fightful reports multiple sources in AEW were said to have been “over the moon” about the Rebel Heart tribute show, honoring Rebel (aka Tanea Brooks). Many of Rebel’s friends said the show was exactly what she wanted.

As noted, some of the guests who were in attendance included Killer Kross, Gail Kim, Christy Hemme, Scarlett Bordeaux, former AEW announcer Dasha Gonzalez, and Allysin Kay. Other names that Fightful reports were in town for the event included Marti Belle and former AEW Chief Legal Officer Megha Parekh.
