Backstage Note on How Much of Timeless Toni Storm Character Work Is Scripted
During the latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp discussed the Timeless Toni Storm character and how much of her promo work is actually scripted or “written.” As noted, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan has spoken in the past about how he came up with the idea for a Bette Davis-type character inspired by her role in All About Eve, along with Hollywood classics like Sunset Boulevard.
According to Sapp, the storyline between Storm and former AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May (aka Blake Monroe) was something Khan conceived and wanted to execute even before May signed with AEW. Also, RJ City is another individual who heavily contributes to the “Timeless” character, as has been stated in the past.
Sapp noted that Storm will simply perform a lot of the character herself, even while doing the media rounds in unscripted settings. Sapp added that Storm’s promos on TV appear to be “collaborative efforts.”
Toni Storm and her Timeless Love Bombs tag team partner, Mina Shirakawa, most recently competed in the finals fo the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title Tournament on last week’s Winter is Coming edition of AEW Dynamite. The Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale) won the bout, making them the inaugural AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions.
