Former WWE Superstar Barry Darsow recently heaped high praise on current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
In a recent appearance on The A2theK Wrestling Show, one-half of the iconic Demolition tag team was asked to give his thoughts on The American Nightmare.
Barry Darsow, who locked horns with both Dusty and Dustin Rhodes during his legendary career, called Cody a “nice guy and a hell of a worker,” adding that the 40-year-old deserves to be in the position that he is in currently.
Darsow also said that he would have loved to wrestle Cody during his days inside the squared circle.
“Nice guy, hell of a worker! And he can talk. When you see him on TV, he doesn’t look as big as he is in real life. He’s kind of a tall guy. And he should be in the position he’s in. He’s a hell of a worker, and he definitely needs to be where he’s at. I’d love to wrestle him. I mean, I couldn’t now, but I would have loved to in my day,” he said. [33:56 onward]
Cody is currently the QB1 of WWE. The American Nightmare returned to the global wrestling juggernaut in 2022 and has since been positioned as a top guy.
He dethroned Roman Reigns as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion at WrestleMania 40 Night Two to finally finish his story. After a year-long reign, the 40-year-old was eventually dethroned by John Cena at this year’s Show of Shows.
However, Cody regained the title at SummerSlam Night Two and has since had a successful defense against Drew McIntyre at Wrestlepalooza. After a DQ finish to their most recent title match, the bitter rivals are set to collide again for the prestigious belt at this weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event.
