Women’s wrestling has changed significantly since Bayley was in NXT, and she recently weighed in on how the brand’s women’s division has evolved. Bayley was of course part of the ‘Four Horsewomen’ in NXT and then the main roster, and she talked on Going Ringside about how the division has changed since she came to the main roster.

“When we were in NXT, we were… what we had to look up to was you guys on Raw and SmackDown like [Alicia] Fox and [Natalya], Tamina, Naomi — all these women on RAW and SmackDown, that was our goal.” Bayley began (h/t to Wrestling Inc). “But now in NXT it’s cool to see where some of the girls are like, ‘Okay, we’re the new Four Horsewomen’ or ‘Who do you think would be the Four Horsewomen in NXT’ — it’s like nice to see that it’s still alive there.”

Bayley was part of the informal group along with Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks, the latter of whom is now in AEW as Mercedes Mone. The NXT women’s division is now led by NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and includes the likes of Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, Sol Ruca, Kelani Jordan, Tatum Paxley, Cora Jade, and Lola Vice (among others).
