WWE Superstar Becky Lynch took the Heat Eaters challenge in a new episode on the First We Feast channel. In the new video, Lynch takes on a three-course lineup with Chef Esther Choi, inspired by Becky’s Irish roots, and she also discusses her role in the WWE Women’s Revolution back in 2014. Below are some highlights:
Becky Lynch on the Industry Being Open to Change for Women’s Wrestling in 2014
“In 2014, there were still posters that said, ‘Hey, come see CM Punk and the Big Show and the Divas, you know, like as if it was its own kind of thing. And what I didn’t anticipate, I suppose, is how much the business would um be open to changing. There was an upswell in the audience wanting to see the women be taken seriously.”
On the Ambition of Her Group in WWE
“So I was with a group of girls, and we all kind of had the same ambition. We wanted to be taken seriously. We wanted to have great matches. We wanted to have matches better than the guys. We wanted to headline the shows, and so did the audience. The audience changed their mind too, and then they changed the company’s mind, and now here we are. ”
Meanwhile, Lynch will compete in the Women’s WarGames Match on Saturday, November 29, at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames. She teams with Nia Jax, Lash Legend, and The Kabuki Warriors against Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, and AJ Lee.
The WWE premium live event takes place at Petco Park in San Diego, California. It will air live on the ESPN App in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
