Big E Comments on Asuka’s WWE Future Following Emotional Moment With IYO SKY at Backlash 2026

Former World Champion Big E speculated about Asuka’s WWE future at the Backlash 2026 Post-Show. At WWE Backlash 2026, Asuka went one-on-one with IYO SKY in a classic teacher vs. student battle. Both wrestlers delivered brilliant performances, but it was The Genius of The Sky who triumphed in the end.

After the match, Asuka, who was visibly emotional, hugged and kissed IYO SKY and also waved at the crowd before exiting the ring. Speaking about the moment at the post-show, Big E stated that although he doesn’t want to speculate, if this was indeed Asuka’s way of bidding goodbye to the WWE Universe, she’d be deeply missed. T

The retired wrestler touched upon The Empress of Tomorrow’s achievements, terming her as an all-time great. He also lauded IYO SKY’s performance and said that he expects her to be involved in the World Title picture soon.

Big E Addresses the WWE Future of Asuka

Big E stated on Asuka, “I don’t [want to speculate] either. I wonder if this is a goodbye. I haven’t really seen Asuka this emotional. If this is goodbye, I know she will be dearly missed. She has been a pioneer; she has done truly incredible things in the ring before she even got to WWE but has further staked her claim as an all-time great here in WWE.”

He continued, “I don’t know what this means, but shout out to IYO SKY for another incredible performance. She’s someone I expect to be in that World Title picture again very, very soon.

Asuka has been with WWE since 2015. She is a multi-time World Champion. Her ally Kairi Sane was recently released from the company. However, there is currently no indication that the Japanese legend is on her way out.
