Brie Bella Reveals She Considered Not Competing at WrestleMania 42 After Nikki Bella Got Injured

WWE Superstar Brie Bella recently opened up about her mental state when Nikki Bella suffered an ankle injury and was doubtful to compete at WrestleMania 42.

Nikki broke her ankle during a tag team match on WWE SmackDown in late March. The injury put her status for ‘Mania in jeopardy, and she was ultimately replaced by Paige in the Fatal Four-Way Women’s Tag Team Championship match at The Show of Shows in Las Vegas.

During a recent appearance on What’s Your Story? With Steph McMahon, Brie Bella revealed that she considered not competing at WrestleMania 42 without Nikki. However, it all changed when she found out that Paige would be stepping in for her twin sister.

Here’s what Brie Bella said:

“Being a tag champ with Paige, I’ll admit that when Nikki broke her ankle two weeks before WrestleMania, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh!’ I definitely was, like, at the point, like, ‘Hey, because Nikki can’t compete, I don’t need to compete either.’ But when they had the idea with Paige coming, I was like, ‘Oh, well, yeah!’ I was excited. I told Paige, ‘Tag-teaming is way different than being a singles. It feels like a lot of moving parts.’ We’ve had a blast.”

As it turned out, Paige and Brie Bella captured the Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 42. They lost the title to Fatal Influence at Saturday Night’s Main Event: NYC earlier this month.

Nikki Bella returned to WWE TV last Friday, and The Bella and Paige are set to take on Fatal Influence in a trios match at SummerSlam this weekend.
