Criminal Complaint Against Raja Jackson To Be Filed Today, Arraignment Scheduled for Later This Week

As previously reported, MMA fighter Raja Jackson was arrested last month relating to an incident that took place at a KnokX Pro Wrestling show on August 23, where Jackson attacked wrestler Syko Stu. Jackson was previously booked on a felony charge, but the charge was not specified. A new report by The Los Angeles Times has more details on the charges Jackson is facing and his pending arraignment.

According to the latest report, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that Jackson faces one count of felony battery that caused serious bodily injury and one count of misdemeanor battery in connection to the incident, which took place at the KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy in Sun Valley, California. Additionally, prosecutors are seeking a sentencing enhancement because wrestler Stuart Smith (aka Syko Stu) suffered significant bodily injury, losing several teeth and suffering a laceration to his lip during the attack, where Jackson slammed Smith and repeatedly punched him in the head and face more than twenty times.

Additionally, The LA Times report that a criminal complaint is expected to be filed Tuesday. It’s not yet clear if Jackson retained an attorney. Jackson is the son of former UFC fighter and UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.

Raja Jackson was previously arrested on suspicion of felony assault, but he was later released on $50,000 bail. Law enforcement authorities reportedly did not present a case to the prosecutors for charging until late last week, and Jackson is said to be expected to appear in court for his arraignment later this week.
