A new report reveals some details on Ridge Holland’s WWE contract expiring and the reaction from talent to the situation. As reported yesterday, Holland announced that WWE is not renewing his contract when it expires on November 14th. Holland is currently out of action due to a Lisfranc foot injury that required surgery.

Holland mentioned that WWE will be paying for his injury rehab. As Fightful Select points out, Holland got hurt while working a TNA booking that was part of his contract. Had WWE not paid for his rehab, it would have quite possible led to a successful lawsuit from Holland had he sought such.

The report confirms that Holland’s contract placed him at the level of NXT stars.. His main roster deal finished in November of last year. He accepted a one-year extension at around $200,000 less than he had been making. He was also not being paid extra for doing a TNA show.

WWE talent who spoke with Fightful were all disappointed that Holland isn’t being paid while injured. One male veteran on the roster said this wouldn’t have happened before the pandemic. They noted that the matter is a “significant concern” for many on the WWE roster.

Holland suffered the injury during a match with Moose at a TNA Impact taping last month.
