Dominik Mysterio Advances In King Of The Ring Tournament On WWE Smackdown

Dominik Mysterio is moving on in the King of the Ring Tournament, winning his first-round match on this week’s WWE Smackdown. The main event of Friday’s show was a Fatal Four-Way match in the tournament pitting Damian Priest, Mysterio, Bron Breakker, and Trick Williams against each other. The winner of the match was set to move on to the semifinals.

That winner proved to be Mysterio, who relied on help from his Judgment Day allies to get the win. The match saw Breakker and Williams get taken out when Breakker leaped off the apron and put himself and the United States Champion through the announce table. That left Mysterio and Priest in the match. Mysterio went after Priest and JD McDonagh came into the ring, with Priest hitting South of Heaven on McDonagh. Mysterio knocked Priest down and hit a frog splash for the win.

You can see clips from the match below. Mysterio will now face Oba Femi in the semifinals. Femi defeated Penta, Solo Sikoa, and Carmelo Hayes in his first-round match on WWE Smackdown.

The winner of the King of the Ring tournament will be determined at WWE Night of Champions on June 28th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The winner earns a title shot at WWE SummerSlam.
