Ed Nordholm Also Reportedly No Longer Working With TNA Wrestling

As previously reported, TNA Wrestling terminated the contract of Scott D’Amore and replaced him with new president Anthony Cicione. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that former Impact Wrestling President Ed Nordholm is also no longer working with TNA. Nordholm was replaced as President by D’Amore, who was EVP and got promoted a year ago. Nordholm still worked with the company through his role in Anthem Sports & Entertainment. He was removed from TNA a few years ago. It was noted that Nordholm and D’Amore’s removal happening at around the same time are “directly related.”
It was Nordholm that reportedly pushed Anthem to make offers for CM Punk and Will Ospreay, which the company agreed to do at the time. Punk eventually went to WWE (and likely would have only considered TNA if there was no WWE interest). Ospreay got a better offer from AEW.
There had been reports that Impact’s studios in Nashville would get upgraded, but that hasn’t happened yet. That lack of upgrade comes with both Nordholm and D’Amore getting removed from TNA. Both had agreed to spend more money on TNA but Anthem didn’t want to do it.
