– This week’s edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter had some backstage news on Edge possibly making a return to the ring. The WWE Hall of Famer reportedly negotiated a significant deal to stay with WWE after apparently having talks with both WWE and AEW. The report claims that the former WWE champion was cleared for his recent Summerslam 2019 appearance, where he speared Elias, after years of “not being cleared to do anything.”

Additionally, the report notes that the idea of him returning to the ring has been discussed privately within WWE. It seems the issue is if Edge could get cleared to actually return wrestle for a match, which is still unknown. Per the report, the WWE creative team is under the impression that Edge will not be cleared to wrestle again. Previously, the WWE Hall of Famer expressed on his podcast that he thinks he could get in the ring and wrestle tomorrow, but thinks it would be unlikely that the WWE medical staff would allow it.

As previously reported, Edge recently stepped away from the Edge and Christian podcast for family reasons. Christian is planning to stay on the podcast for now.

Edge (aka Adam Copeland) is 45 years old, and he will be turning 46 on October 30.
