Gunther Reacts to Being Undertaker’s Favorite

In retirement, Undertaker has made no secret of the fact that when it comes to the current roster, Gunther is “my guy.” He would consider coming out of retirement for him, and even says he’d be willing to take his chops, despite normally disliking them as a go-to move.

So how does the emotionally controlled Ring General react to this high praise?

On a recent episode of No-Contest Wrestling with O’Shea Jackson Jr. and TJ Jefferson, he kept it simple, initially, saying, “It’s a very nice compliment, obviously. Um yeah, I don’t know much more to say about that. It’s very nice to hear that, obviously, from somebody like Taker. It’s a big confirmation. It kind of confirmed all the things I kind of knew about myself anyway.”

He discussed a bit why he knew that about himself, saying, “My whole career has been that I always approached things differently. I often didn’t follow the popular route. Um, and often I was the only one and they never questioned my decisions. I don’t know, it maybe speaks more about a lot of my colleagues that always chase the next hot thing. I never needed that, and don’t think it will ever change.”

With that kind of ethic, he might have to be careful or he’ll end up getting cheered eventually, even as he relishes the boos now.
