WWE News: Hideo Itami Finished With WWE, What Happened After Smackdown Ended
– Hideo Itami’s WWE run is over. PWInsider reports that Itami finished with the company as of the Smackdown taping on Tuesday night. The word is that Itami requested his release.
Itami was one of WWE’s major gets for NXT, having signed in 2014 and competing in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 31. However, an injury put him out of action for over a year, leaving him out until June of 2016. He didn’t return to NXT television until April of 2017, then moved up to 205 Live in November of that year.
Itami changed his social media account handles back to KENTA over the last day.
– The site also reports that Asuka beat Charlotte Flair in a dark match after Smackdown. The match was described as “short but good,” with Asuka winning via Asuka Lock.
