Last night’s edition of NXT saw the WWE Men’s Speed Championship Tournament get underway. We saw two opening round matches take place, with WWE EVOLVE’s Sean Legacy locking horns with Friday Night SmackDown’s Axiom and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s Zachary Wentz battling NXT Superstar Jasper Troy.
Troy and Wentz went at first, with the former needing just two minutes out of the three-minute time slot to book his place in the final. Later in the show, Axiom defeated Sean Legacy via a Spanish Fly off the top rope in the final few seconds of the bout.
Thanks to their victories, Axiom and Jasper Troy will square off against each other on next week’s episode of WWE’s development brand’s show to earn the right to face the reigning Men’s Speed Champion, El Grande Americano (i.e., Ludwig Kaiser), for the title.

However, the location and date of the match for the WWE Men’s Speed Championship have yet to be announced by the Stamford-based company. For those unaware, El Grande Americano defeated Dragon Lee back in May 2025 to win the Men’s Speed Championship.
It will be interesting to see which of Jasper Troy and Axiom will challenge him for the gold in the coming weeks.
