JD Drake Recalls Talking To Anthony Henry After Henry’s WWE Release
JD Drake is a longtime tag team partner of Anthony Henry, and he recently revealed the conversation he had with Henry after the latter was released from WWE. Henry released a statement after he was released from the company back in August of 2021 saying that he was considering retirement, and Drake spoke about the situation during an interview with Josh Nason of the Wrestling Observer. You can check out the highlights below per Wrestling Inc:
On Henry’s WWE release: “He was ready to quit. He had made it and he was doing well, and then all the sudden it got pulled out from under him. Man, the conversations I had with him. I was like, ‘Look man, you’re too good. There’s no way. I’m not going to allow you to just quit. Whatever I’ve got to do to get your ass back in a professional wrestling ring.’ ”
On Henry’s ability: “He is unreal. There’s nobody on the planet he can’t keep up with. You put him in the ring with Brian Danielson for 15 minutes and I promise you he will blow your mind. I promise. He’s a special type of human, man.”
