Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre were involved in a pretty funny moment at Mahal’s wedding over the summer. As fans may recall, Mahal, McIntyre and Heath Slater were all part of the 3MB group. Former WWE talent Shanky, who was also in a group with Jinder Mahal in the past, spoke to Sportskeeda WrestleBinge (h/t Fightful) and revealed a story from Mahal’s wedding where an elderly man wanted Shanky to explain why he allowed McIntyre to walk freely at the wedding after he saw McIntyre hit him (Shanky) with a chair on WWE TV.
Shanky had to explain to the man that it was all part of a storyline. His comments are below.
“Even Drew (McIntyre) was dancing. Suddenly, this elderly man comes and takes me to the side. He asked me why I was dancing when Drew hit me with steel chairs? I explained it’s part of a storyline. He asked me not to dance. He was a typical Punjabi. So I liked it too. He was from Jinder’s family. They all watch wrestling. I really liked this incident. So, later on, Drew thought this man was angry. I explained the situation and he laughed so hard. He went and apologized and said, ‘Sorry, it wasn’t my fault.’ That was great for me. I really enjoyed Jinder’s wedding.”
Shanky last wrestled for WWE at the 2023 Superstar Spectacle in India where he faced Gunther.
