John Cena Announces He Will Host WrestleMania 42

John Cena was last seen on WWE television on December 13, 2025, when his Last Match ended with Gunther making him tap like a little…nah, I won’t write that. Cena’s been keeping busy since then with his acting career, but it looks like we will in fact be seeing him at least one more time.

After plugging his upcoming movie, Cena notes that Hollywood is really close to Las Vegas, and word around town is that WrestleMania needs a host. Since he’s already on that road, he’ll see us at WrestleMania.

John Cena was in the main event of last year’s WrestleMania in Las Vegas, where he defeated Cody Rhodes to become the 17-time World Champion and official GOAT of WWE canon. Cena lost the title back to Rhodes at SummerSlam before wrapping up his farewell tour as the good guy people knew him as for the lion’s share of his career. John Cena won’t be challenging for any championships this year, but his impact will still be felt at the Show of Shows.
