Keep Refreshing For The Latest Results

SICKOS! It’s Wednesday, you know what that means! AEW Dynamite is LIVE tonight, but, as we approach the middle of December, you know what type of season that we are bound to enter (in the Northern Hemisphere, at least).

WINTER…IS…COMING!

Or, in other words, a special edition of Dynamite for us to enjoy! And that starts with an AEW Men’s World Heavyweight Championship match, as the Champion Samoa Joe will look to turn back the challenge from Eddie Kingston. Speaking of Joe and his Opps teammates, both Katsuyori Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs will face Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page.

After months of speculation and rumors that we would get AEW Women’s World Tag Team Titles, the tournament will reach an adamant conclusion tonight, as The Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale) will face The Timeless Love Bombs (TIMELESS Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa)to crown the inaugural champions.

Speaking of champions and titles, the Continental Classic will roll on with two Gold League matches. First on the docket, it will be Kazuchika Okada, with a 1-1-0 record good for three points, will face former Elite member and tournament substitute Jack Perry. We will also have Kyle Fletcher, complete with his 2-0-0 record good for six points, facing off with Speedball Mike Bailey, who comes in with an 0-1-0 record.

And, as a friendly reminder, our standings look like this:

Gold League:
Kyle Fletcher (2-0-0 6 points)
PAC (1-1-0 3 points)
Kazuchika Okada (1-1-0 3 points)
Kevin Knight (1-0-0 3 points)
Speedball Mike Bailey (0-1-0 zero points)
Jack Perry (0-1-0 zero points)

Blue League:
Konosuke Takeshita (2-0-0 6 points)
Claudio Castagnoli (2-0-0 6 points)
Jon Moxley (1-1-0 3 points)
Orange Cassidy (1-1-0 3 points)
Mascara Dorada (1-1-0 3 points)
Roderick Strong (0-2-0 zero points)

So, enough bantering, let’s get into Winter, because it IS coming, after all!

YayImage Credit: Follow the Revolution – FTR on Facebook. It’s sure been quite the change since 2018, huh?

Tonight, we are LIVE from the Gateway Center in Atlanta, Georgia! The man with the mask, Excalibur, the man who has been around wrestling longer than I have been alive, Tony Schiavone, and the man who says YES, Bryan Danielson, will be on the call tonight!

YOU WANTED WAR! And for Winter, no less!

Excalibur runs down the matches and segments for tonight and ZOMG THE WOMEN’S TAG IS FIRST, YOU GUYS!

AEW Women’s World Tag Team Titles Tourney Finals: The Timeless Love Bombs vs. The Babes of Wrath

Harley and Mina to start us off. Cameron gets Mina to the mat, but Mina rolls out and rolls through Cameron. She ducks a Harlet clothesline and she shakes it! Cameron with a side head lock, she gets sent into the corner and does a headstand! Cameron rolls up Mina, she rolls though, and punches Harley in the arse lol.

Storm and Nightingale get the tags now. Storm sniffs the neck of Willow lol. Power struggle in the middle of the ring, Willow does knock Storm down. It turns into a strike battle, Cameron enters the ring, as does Mina. The Babes send the Love Bombs out to the apron and to the floor. Cameron holds Toni and Mina in place for Willow can hit a CANNONBALL from the apron.

Back in the ring, and Willow tags in Harley and wheelbarrow slams her onto Storm. That gets them a two. Cameron with some chips, she sends Storm across the ring, but Mina holds on to Storm, allowing her to keep Harley at bay. Mina gets the tag officially and hits a snap suplex to Harley. Storm gets the tag, and she hits a snap suplex lol. Another tag, as Storm hits a storm breaker on her partner on to Cameron for a two.

Harley with a back suplex to Mina, and she can tag in Willow. Nightingale trucks both Mina and Toni, then delivers slaps to both ladies. Their attempt to cut off Willow meets a run through their clothesline and a double lariat! POUNCE, PERIOD by Willow sends Toni out to the floor as we hit the break!

Mina hits a snap mare to Harley as we return from break. Nightingale gets the blind tag, though, and lays out Mina. Counter to the Irish Whip by Mina leads to a springboard DDT, as Mina tags in Storm. Toni hits the ring with Mongolian chops for everyone. She throws Harley into Willow, then imitates a chicken as she goes to apply the Chicken Wing. Willow is back to break it up, but here is Mina. Mina grabs the legs of Harley, eggs on Willow, as she hits a DDT on Willow and cranks on the legs of Harley! Figure-Four! In a scene we have seen before, Toni enters the ring and rolls over Mina for leverage. Willow then comes in and rolls over Harley lol. Willow and Toni re-enter and fight each other.

The holds are finally broken, as both teams remain in the ring to trade shots. Storm headbutts Willow, knocking them both out, while Mina and Harley collide with double clotheslines to take each other out. All the ladies are up, as Toni Storm alludes Willow to help Mina hits an avalanche sling blade to Harley! Storm Zero from Toni! The cover, but Willow saves the match with a back senton splash! Willow takes Toni to the outside and wipes her out with another POUNCE, PERIOD!

Back in the ring, Mina and Harley battle it out. Mina with the Spinning Back Fist! Glamorous Driver from Mina, but Harley escapes out the back and hits her Finishing Move! She tags in Willow, who hits the Doctor Bomb, and we have our first tag team champions!
WINNER: The Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale – NEW CHAMPIONS!)
TIME: 13:55
THOUGHTS: Finally, the tournament has ended, after months of speculation. While I WANTED Toni and Mina to win, I am not unhappy that Willow and Harley are the first champions. Fantastic match with no flaws, period.
RATING: **********

Post-match, Renee Paquette is here to embrace Willow and Harley and to get a word with the new champions. Willow says that Harley’s mouth is bloody, but she is the best. This has been a trying year for Willow, as she didn’t know who she could trust, but they are now the tag team champions.

Harley says that she met Willow in her second ever match here in AEW and look where they are now! They are the first Women’s Tag Team Champions!

WHO ARE WE?
BABES OF WRATH!

All the pyro then goes off, must have been the stash intended for the Young Bucks lol. Mina and Toni return to the ring and they want to shake the winners’ hands! Nice!

The Opps are in the back. Samoa Joe wants to congratulate Eddie Kingston. For weeks, you asked for the man who ran the Independents, the man that Eddie looked up to. But I’ve been here the whole time, and I have no time for men like you. This man has been here all along, and he will kick your ass and show you the reality of what this industry is all about.

COMMERCIALS!

Jon Moxley and some of the Death Riders are in a hallway post-break. He says he is feeling alive. The situation isn’t ideal. His back is against the wall, but he has proven that, even if there one grain of sand left in the hourglass, he will score. If you can’t do this, then maybe you suck. And people pay money for this? He does this for them, meaning Yuta, Garcia, and Marina. They are the hardest working group of individuals, they are always chasing the dragon.

Garcia says they are always going to be fighters. Some people think it is lame to keep working, but they don’t, they will do that every single time!

Jack Perry is here for his first official C2 match, looking more like Outback Jack than Jungle Boy lol. Renee, now at ring side, explains what we already knew about Perry only having four matches and he is facing the best tournament wrestler of our time.

Continental Classic Match – Gold League: Kazuchika Okada (1-1-0 3 points) vs. Jack Perry (Officially 0-0-0, but he assumes the one loss from Allin)

Perry storms Okada at the gates and rams his shoulder into the gut of Okada. Aubrey backs him off, but Perry goes back to it. She backs him off again, and Okada tries to attack, but Perry snaps off a Rana, sending Okada to the floor. Perry flies out of the ring with a tope, wiping out Okada.

On the floor, Okada reverses a whip from Perry, sending him into the barricade. Perry does, however, catch Okada with a boot to the face as he charges in. He slams Okada face first off the apron and returns him to the ring. He covers Okada for a two. Perry to the top and he hits an elbow strike for another two. Perry corners Okada and does the mounted punches. He flips off Okada, but Okada sneaks out from underneath and dropkicks Perry from the top and to the floor.

Okada takes a minute to collect himself before he heads to the outside. He feigns sending Perry back into the ring, but he instead sends Perry over the barricade and into the crowd. Okada brings Perry over the barricade and hits the draping DDT as we head out for break.

Okada taunts Perry with some kicks to the head as we return from break. Perry back to his feet, he lands some forearms, but one from Okada shuts that down. Perry back up, he tries it again, only to get shutdown by one forearm. Okada proceeds to hammer Perry with forearms and kicks, but Perry reverses a whip into a big flying lariat.

Both men to their feet. Okada charges Perry, but he eats some back elbows. Perry does a Ryu Hayabusa corner kick like in the original Ninja Gaiden arcade game and hits a release German on Okada for a two. Okada is enough BITCH and hits his patented neck breaker. He follows with the scoop slam and the falling elbow drop. POSE OF THE MIDDLE FINGER! Okada looking Rainmaker, no, Okada avoids the Poison Rana and hits that picture perfect dropkick! Okada tries the Rainmaker again, but this time Perry hits the Poison Rana! Knee strike from Perry! The cover, 2.5!

Perry looks for the Snare Trap, but Okada bites the hand of Perry. Okada looking for the Tombstone, but Perry bits him in the crotch! Perry rolls up Okada for a two. Snare Trap is in officially, as Okada crawls to the ropes to get the break.

Okada escapes to the floor and grabs a chair, but Perry follows him out and he drops the chair. Perry thinks about it, but he instead sends Okada back into the ring. Short arm clothesline by Okada, looking for the real Rainmaker, but Perry off the ropes. Okada misses the drop kick, but he counters Perry with a tilt-a-world slam. The Rainmaker for Real wins for Okada!
WINNER: Kazuchika Okada (2-1-0 6 points)
TIME: 13:00
THOUGHTS: No matter what I think about Perry replacing Allin in the tournament, he put in a good effort in this match, and more than likely will the rest of the way. Okada deserved to win, and he did just that.
RATING: ***1/2

Post-match, Callis invites his family to the ring. HE HAS SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO SAY! He says he respects Jack Perry. Callis thinks that he gave the money to the wrong guys in the Young Bucks, he should have given it to Perry. He has the talent, but he lacks focus. He lacks the teamwork and the desire to be better. He is offering Perry a spot in the Don Callis Family. But, more importantly, he is willing to offer Perry a one-time signing bonus, and he will pay in cash with the Young Bucks money. He needs an answer, and Jack, in case that’s not enough for you, he has to ask, what are you waiting for? Someone is offering you the best opportunity of your life. Jack, remember, there are seven of us and one of you. He will cut your string and put you in a chair.

Perry takes the mic. Don, I have your answer. And it looks like, for the second time tonight, I might bite off a little bit more than I can chew.

Perry, of course, stupidly tries to take on the DCF. Luchasaurus is here! He looks like he wants to enter the ring, but he stops and looks around. It’s a distraction, as The Young Bucks sneak in from behind with chairs and waffle the DCF members. Luchasaurus lays out the other members and stops Don Callis from leaving with the bag of money. The Bucks go to SUPERKICK Callis, but Takeshita takes the bullet for him! The DCF escape up the ramp, and we see the Bucks have the money!

In the back, we see The Conglomeration celebrating with Willow and Harley, while Roderick Strong sulks in the back like a wet blanket! Alex Abrahantes and Komander are here! So are Mina and Toni!

Video package for Mercedes Mone, and her eventual downfall with all of her titles.

We will hear from the TNT Champion next!

COMMERCIALS!

Eddie Kingston is in the back with Renee. She wants to know how Eddie feels going into his world title match. Eddie says he is nervous, but he is ready for this. Today is the anniversary of the GOAT, Terry Funk, winning the World Title, and he wants to make him proud. He’s had two world title shots before, and he doesn’t want to crash out. He knows Joe is stretching and getting ready, all that good jazz, but Eddie is not going down without a fight.

Schiavone in the ring, he wants to introduce the TNT Champion, Mark Briscoe! And here comes the Master of the Talky-Talk, as we see he will defend the TNT Title this Saturday against Daniel Garcia. Tony reminds us of the early start time for Saturday’s Winter is Coming Collision. Briscoe says it wasn’t that long ago that they said Mark Briscoe wouldn’t win the big one and he was a choker. Well, he knows the haters are still out there, but we are here in front of the good people of Atlanta! He has this piece of hardware, and Tony says that makes him the champion!

Briscoe says he has a message for his haters, that they can kiss his big white ass. LOL! KISS MY ASS chants. It’s one thing to become champion, but it’s another thing to reign as a champion. He will face Daniel Garcia this Saturday in Cardiff, Wales.

But we hear a whiny voice interrupting. It’s Wheeler Yuta. He says he has less teeth than he does kids, and they call him chicken because he has the mental capacity of one. FUCK YOU YUTA chants, as Garcia says that was a good one. He has some mean, hurtful things he could say about Mark. But he won’t, because honestly, he feels bad for you. Everything about Briscoe is kind of sad. But what won’t be sad is when he beats Briscoe on Saturday to become a two-time TNT Champion, and you will have to provide for your family with a broken leg.

Briscoe says that you will get an ass whopping on TNT this Saturday. But, tonight, we are on TBS, and we can’t deprive the fans of action. So, if you are feeling dangerous…

Garcia slaps the mic out of Mark’s hand, so Briscoe strikes Garcia. Yuta and Shafir hold him back, as Mark poses with his title.

A situation is developing in the back, says Excalibur, as we see the Triangle of Madness attacking some rando women. Kris Statlander is here! She’s overwhelmed for a minute, but she fights all three ladies off with a steel chair.

It’s time for tornado action!

Tornado Tag Match: The Opps W/Opps Dojo Jobbers vs. Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland

We see Hangman appear in the arena on one side, while Swerve appears from the concourse, as Prince Nana dances.

Shibata and Hobbs send the Dojo Jobbers up the aisle to attack, but Swerve uses his chain to choke them out and uses his staple gun, while Page uses his chain to take out some of the Jobbers. Shibata and Hobbs join the fray, as we see Swerve and Shibata fight up into the concourse, while Hobbs and Page fight to the back of the arena. Hobbs with a low blow to Page, but Hangman hits a DVD to Hobbs through the table. He asks for a beer, while we see Shibata hammer Swerve, who is sitting in a chair. He comes flying in, but he stops short, and push kicks Swerve to the floor lol. Commercial break time.

The fight as returned to ring side as we return from break. Shibata kicks out Swerve’s legs on the barricade, as Hangman grabs a chair. The bell rings officially, but Mike Posey takes the chair from Hangman. Hobbs uses this distraction to run over Hangman as Shibata returns to the ring. Snap suplex from Shibata, so Hobbs matches that. Shibata with another one. Hobbs and Shibata hit a double team suplex as they pose and taunt the fans.

Shibata sends Page into Hobbs for something that looked like a lariat. Hobbs trucks Page in the corner, as Shibata hits his stalling basement dropkick. PK from Shibata as he and Hobbs continue to taunt the fans. Hobbs to the apron now, as Shibata holds Page open to a shot to the gut. Hobbs to the apron again, and Prince Nana pops on the apron! He might have a death wish, but here is Swerve to kick Hobbs in the face! Page with a lariat to Shibata, and he takes off and hits a dive onto Hobbs on the floor.

Swerve tries the brain buster, but Shibata fights it off. Swerve does hit the snap mare, goes to the top, and hits the flying back elbow. Here comes the Dougie! WHOSE HOUSE! Swerve looking House Call, but Hobbs pulls him out of the ring. Page has Shibata lined up for the Buckshot, but Hobbs distracts Posey, and Shibata hits Page in the dick. Arilyn will NOT like that. Shibata has the armbar on Page, but here comes Swerve with the stomp to save Page!

The match resets with all four men in the ring. Everyone is slugging it out, but Hobbs accidently wipes out Shibata. Double rolling discus elbow from Swerve and Hangman to Hobbs! Fallaway Slam into a 450 Splash! It’s like they are best friends lol. Page and Swerve come face-to-face, Hobbs interrupts, so he gets put through a table at ring side! Back in the ring, Hangman with the Buckshot Lariat, Swerve with the House Call, and they are victorious!
WINNER: Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page
TIME: 7:10 (officially)
THOUGHTS: Fun and mindless chaos which didn’t get out of control, and nobody bled. So, that’s good lol. It was roughly 17-18 minutes if you count all the fighting beforehand, but officially, it was pretty quick to an ending.
RATING: ***1/2

Don Callis is here to cry some more lol. Just because you stole my money doesn’t mean that it is yours. He could sue them and take them to the poorhouse, but he would rather beat them up and take it back. He has Okada. He has Takeshita. He has Fletcher. He wants the Bucks to get a partner, grow a set, and face them next week in Manchester!

COMMERCIALS!

Big Stoke is here, and he has braking news. The Bang Bang Gang has decided to be handsy with the tag team titles, and handsy with FTR. People believe that the most dangerous narcotic is on the street, but the most dangerous narcotic is this camera. Because people think that they can get in front of this camera, and they feel like they deserve something. So, next week in Manchester at one of the biggest shows for AEW, you will be able to clear customs, but you won’t be clearing them with any hardware, because FTR will beat you, and you are going to the back of the line. TOP GUYS, OUT!

A Wild Speedball has appeared!

Continental Classic Match – Kyle Fletcher (2-0-0 6 points) vs. Speedball Mike Bailey (0-1-0 zero points)

Renee says that Speedball is in a must-win situation, and Kyle told her with certainty that the title was NOT leaving the Don Callis Family.

The bell rings, and we get a tentative start. Both men retreat to corners of the ring before locking up. Kyle fakes giving a clean break, but Bailey ducks the swing attempt and sends Kyle to the mat and to his ass lol. Another lock-up, as Fletcher has arm control. Bailey rolls around and gets out of that and turns to a headlock. Fletcher throws Bailey off, but Speedball with a headlock take over and a quick pin for a two. Fletcher takes a breather on the floor, as I noticed that Don Callis isn’t here for this match, but he was earlier for Okada. Interesting.

Fletcher takes his time to get back on the apron. LET’S GO SPEEDBALL/KYLE FOREVER dualling chants lol. Fletcher with a cheap shot to Bailey, as he comes down with a stomp to the shoulder. He takes a minute to listen to the fans and does it again. Bailey back up, off the ropes, and hits a missile dropkick. Bailey with a snap Rana to the floor, as Fletcher delivers another awesome facial expression lol.

Back in the ring, Bailey goes to the top, but Fletcher catches him and hits a Michinoku Driver for a two. Fletcher sends Bailey to the corner, but Speedball fires back with another dropkick. Bailey with kicks, but the running SSP misses. Fletcher charges Bailey, but a low bridge sends Fletcher to the floor. Speedball with the springboard into Tornio to Fletcher! Speedball returns Fletcher to the ring, but Kyle slides out the other side of the ring.

Bailey goes outside after Fletcher, but Kyle turns the tables and drops Bailey on the barricade. Fletcher looking for something on the barricade, but Bailey escapes it. Fletcher holds on to Bailey so he can grab Speedball and hits a Michinoku Driver on the barricade to Speedball. That’ll take us to the break.

Fletcher and Speedball are fighting on the apron as we return from break. I’m not sure how Bailey’s back isn’t dead from that Driver on the barricade. Bailey avoids the Half-and-Half from Fletcher and delivers the moonsault knees! THIS IS AWESOME chants, as Bailey returns to the ring. Fletcher returns to the ring, grabbing the ropes for support. Big running kick from Bailey, looking for the Flamingo Driver, but Fletcher tries to fight him off. He instead eats a top rope Rana from Speedball. Bailey to the top rope now, his shooting star press eats the pretty pink boots of Fletcher.

Kyle fires up and throws Bailey face first into the corner. Kyle with the sit-down Powerbomb! The cover, Bailey kicks out at two! Fletcher proceeds to lose his mind and stomps the mullet of Bailey. Bailey tries to fight back with a chop, but Fletcher is game to trade with him. Bailey chops Fletcher then offers up a shot to Fletcher. Kyle goes to strike, but Bailey kicks him away and hits the Spanish Fly for a two. Reversals incoming, as Fletcher pops up Bailey, but Speedball with a Rana for a two! PK from Bailey, another moonsault knee drop! End Game Kick! The cover, Fletcher kicks out at 2.8! Time and Adventure from Bailey, but AGAIN Fletcher kicks out at 2.8!

Bailey argues the call with Ref Rick Knox, as Bailey looks for another T&A Kick, but Fletcher kicks him instead. Bailey, undeterred, hits a thrust kick and a back kick! ULTIMO WEAPON, BUT FLETCHER KICKS OUT AT 2.99999! Fletcher to the floor, as Bailey is on the apron. Another Ultimo Weapon attempt on the floor, but Fletcher moves and hits an apron powerbomb.

Fletcher returns Bailey to the ring and hits a corner powerbomb. SHEER DROP BRAINBUSTER, BUT BAILEY KICKS OUT AT 2.999999999999999999! Both men on the top rope, Bailey looking for a Sunset Flip Bomb, but a roll-up gets a two. Lariat from Fletcher, rolling Prawn Hold from Bailey gets him the win!
WINNER: Speedball Mike Bailey (1-1-0 3 points)
TIME: 19:05
THOUGHTS: Holy Crap on a cracker, Batman, was that a fantastic match. Just an incredible match with more false finishes than Don Callis has family members. Who says we still can’t have MOTY candidates in the month of December?
RATING: ****3/4

Renee in the back with Hangman Page. She says it seems like Hell froze over as he teamed with Swerve Strickland. What is next for you? Hangman says that winning his World Title back is what is next. And it doesn’t matter who wins tonight, because at World’s End, he is coming to take his title back.

COMMERCIALS!

The Young Bucks are here. They guess it is official, next week, the Young Bucks against the Don Callis Family in Manchester for all the money. They ask Lucha if he wants to tag with them next week, but he grunts and points down the hall. We see the locker room for Kenny Omega. The Bucks knock on the door, and Kenny emerges. They ask if he will tag with them and offer him some of the money. Kenny says that is a lot of money, but he doesn’t want the money, because it is the Don Callis Family, and he would do it for free. So, tune in, be there or be square, all of that good stuff.

AEW Men’s World Heavyweight Title Match: Samoa Joe (C) W/Hook vs. Eddie Kingston

The bell rings, as both men circle each other, looking for an advantage. They lock-up and Joe takes Kingston to the corner, but Eddie with the reversal as he gives a clean break. Joe throws Kingston into the corner and follows up with elbows to the back of Eddie. Kingston fires back with a bulldog as we head out for the last break of the night.

Chops galore during the break, as we return to see Kingston sink in body blows to Joe. Kingston eggs on Joe, which proves to not be very smart, as Joe fires back with forearms. Kingston strikes back with some punches to the gut, but Joe runs into a lariat from Kingston! EDDIE chants, as Joe struggles to get to his feet. Perhaps it was all a ruse, though, as Joe catches him with the Urnage in the corner. Joe charges in with the back elbow and the enziguri. Joe makes Kingston eat his boot and then hits the running boot scrap. Joe chokes out Kingston in the ropes.

Eddie to his feet, but not for long, as Joe sinks in a headbutt to floor Kingston. The crowd is evenly split for both men, as they go back to trading hands. Kingston tries, in vain, to hit two lariats and drop Joe, but he catches Kingston on the third attempt with the power slam for a two.

Joe with some knees to the face of Kingston, which only serves to fire up Kingston, who tries to chop Joe down. He goes back to the knees, so Kingston goes back to the chops. WINNER: Samooooooooooooooooooooooa Joe (Still Champion)
TIME: 13:10
THOUGHTS: There had to be no real drama about a title change, so I won’t say that it ruined my excitement for the main event, but it certainly did not help at all. A match between two bad arse dudes just beating the crap out of each other, nothing wrong with that.
RATING: ***1/2

Post-match, Joe celebrates with his title as Excalibur runs down the matches for next week’s Holiday Bash Dynamite in Manchester. And with that, we are done!
