Hello people, it’s another Friday night and that means we get some WWE Smackdown. Last week Randy Orton justified his heel turn, and everyone cheered. Then he pillmanized Matt Cardona’s arm. . . and everyone cheered. So they’ll probably try the same thing again tonight with Randy attacking Jelly Roll when Jelly takes on Kit Wilson. . . and everyone will cheer. There’s just no reasonable way to get Randy heat at this point, network standards and practices wouldn’t like him doing what he’d need to do so we’ll just persist in this bizarre state where the in world fiction and real world reaction are diametrically opposed. I lived through this with Big Dog era Roman Reigns and it sucked then too. WWE champion Cody Rhodes might be back two weeks after Randy tore him to pieces, or he might wait another week because reasons. Last week Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu fought through basically the whole episode then fell off of a bit of scaffolding out of sight. Expect more violence between those two, and a violent stipulation for their inevitable Mania match. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss will take on the Bella Twins, the winner gets a shot at the tag titles so expect shenanigans of some variety. Speaking of women and shenanigans, last week Michin and B-Fab aligned with Jade Cargill to take out Rhea Ripley. Jade will probably talk this week, because WWE hates us, and while B-Fab joining her tracks on several levels Michin’s actions make no sense. But B-Fab and Michin will make adequate punching bags for Ripley to abuse before Mania. Damian Priest and R-Truth are still tag team champions so we’ll see what program they actually get, especially after Candice LeRae helped the Motor City Machine Guns get a win last week. Solo Sikoa and Management’s Favorite Template are starting to bicker internally because Solo wont return the lantern to the Wyatt Sicks despite Tama Tonga wanting him to. That feud cannot end soon enough, what an enormous waste of time. Sami Zayn lost to Aleister Black last week, Sami will likely blame Trick Williams to set up those two at Mania where a double turn seems all but guaranteed at this point. But poor Aleister Black still doesn’t seem to have a direction. Carmelo Hayes finally seems to have put Ilja Dragunov down after last week, which means Ilja badly needs a direction if he wants to be on WrestleMania. Hayes will likely have another open challenge tonight for his US title. Speaking of the US title, on the women’s side Giulia will takeon Tiffany Stratton tonight. Get Giulia off of Smackdown, this brand isn’t a good fit but she would be tearing things up on RAW with that group of ladies. Still no sign of the Street Profits, or of anything consistent for Shinsuke Nakamura, or for Rey Fenix, or Royce Keys. Well WrestleMania is coming up soon so let’s see how Smackdown follows up last week, which was a pretty good card overall.
Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett welcome us to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for this episode. Plus remember Mania is just 22 days away. We see the parade of wrestlers arriving per usual.
Next we get a recap of Randy Orton’s antics from last week, it’s over ominous music and fake boos because the crowd just cheered him over everything.
Back to the ring, here’s Randy to a large babyface pop. Eventually Randy gets a mic and just listens to the cheers before saying he stood in this ring two weeks ago with Cody Rhodes and Cody told him to become the best version of himself, then said the fans want Randy to be the best version as well. The crowd cheers for that. Cody also told him to listen to the voices in his head, but Randy shut them out a long time ago. For the last years he’s been thinking about 15, his legacy in wrestling after he leaves, and his 15th world title. Big pop. Then Cody gave Randy his blessing. Well now that he’s listening to the voices again he has to warn people that he’s not responsible for what happens next. Another big pop. The voices of others are the problem, including the fans. But there’s one voice and person who has his ear. One person outside of his head who’s voice he’s listening too. Before that can go anywhere he’s Matt Cardona with a brace on his left arm. Cardona has a mic and just hits Randy with it to big boos. That knocks Randy out of the ring and Cardona calls him into the ring for a fight as the crowd loudly chant for Randy. Man this is so backwards.
In the back Trick Williams finds Nick Aldis. Aldis says he’s impressed with Trick and what he’s done, and he’s going to give him a Mania match. Trick has people to call, then Sami Zayn comes over and Trick makes fun of him. Sami congratulates Trick on going to Mania then asks Aldis what his spot at Mania will be. Aldis says Sami isn’t on the Mania card right now unless something changes. Trick wishes Sami better luck next year. Sami staggers away stunned, then turns around and punches down Trick, then he tells Aldis he’s having a match at Mania.
Back to the ring here come the Bella Twins, they’ll take on Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss after this break.
We come back to Randy finding Aldis in the back and Randy complains about what just happened then wants a match with Cardona tonight. Aldis is a little unsure about that but Randy threatens him enough to get it to a big pop.
Back to the ring and here come Charlotte and Bliss. Oh, and of course the Irresistible Forces of Nia Jax and Lash Legend are here. Oh God they’ve got mics and talk their way to the ring. They say there are still tickets for RAW, not sure that’s a good thing, when they take out Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. Lash runs down the two teams and promise they wont let this match bring the show down.
Match #1 – Tag Team Match: Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie) vs. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss
Charlotte and Nikki start, they tie up and Charlotte hits a shoulder block and taunts Nikki. Charlotte heads to the apron and lands kicks to Nikki and Brie but back in the ring Nikki lands a knee to the face. Brie tags in and goes after the arm of Charlotte then lands a chop. Charlotte is amused by that and lays in a chop of her own then tags in Bliss. Bliss immediately takes a Russian leg sweep for 2. Nikki blind tags, Bliss with a low dropkick then gets tied up in the ring skirt trying a baseball slide. Everyone bickers as we go to break, but thankfully my Netflix feed should let me continue.
Nikki yanks Bliss off the apron then tosses her into Jax and Lash, their chairs barely move. Back in the ring Nikki goes for the arm of Bliss, then tags in Brie for a double suplex. Bliss takes a Bulldog then Nikki tags back in and they keep after the arm of Bliss. Brie tags back in and Bliss takes a double Flapjack. Corner kicks from Brie, and a reference to Bryan Danielson wakes the crowd up. We come back to Bliss punching Brie but then not being able to make a tag. Nikki tags back in but Bliss escapes the heel corner then one of the absolute worst spinebusters I’ve seen from Nikki to Bliss. Good grief. Nikki with a cheap shot to Charlotte then Brie tags in for more arm work. Bliss fights off a double suplex with a double DDT after Nikki tagged in, now Charlotte tags in and hits a double crossbody. Chops from Charlotte then a walk over clothesline to Nikki. Overhead throws to both Brie and Nikki then Charlotte taunts Lash and Jax. Bliss tags back in for a walk over Blockbuster but Brie breaks up the pin. Brie tags back in, and a bad looking Hart Attack connects then Charlotte breaks up the pin. Nikki and Charlotte fight to the floor, Brie tries to rally the crowd but they don’t care and Bliss clocks her then they trade roll ups before Lash lands a cheap shot and Brie rolls up Bliss to win.
OFFICIAL RESULT: Bella Twins won in 9:33
Rating: 1.5 stars
Thoughts: Rough here, Nikki and Brie still aren’t good and this just never really clicked. Just no real chemistry, some rough moments of execution, probably about 2-3 minutes too long for the material they had too. We’ve spent 3 weeks with some variation of Charlotte and Bliss, the Bellas, and Jax and Lash, and frankly none of them have really gelled into anything worth watching.
Post match we, yet a gain, see Jax and Lash attack the other teams. They try to kill Bliss again but Bayley and Lyra Valkyria show up to attack them, it takes effort from everyone but the other three teams do toss the champs out of the ring. Charlotte then shoves Nikki down for good measure.
We get a recap of Damian Priest and R-Truth becoming tag champs a couple of weeks ago. After that we see Priest and Truth in the back, Truth is building a club house and we get humor before Jelly Roll shows up. Truth mistakes Jelly for Dominic Mysterio. Rhea Ripley shows up too and Truth is happy Dom and Ripley are back together. Jelly hypes up Ripley for her Mania program then he heads out but Truth follows him. Ripley tries to make sense of Truth, Priest reminds her not to waste her time with that. Ripley then congratulates Priest on becoming champ and Priest knows she’ll get her gold back at Mania. That sends us to break, Ripley will be in action after this.
Post break we find Charlotte and Bliss in the back commiserating, then Nikki and Brie come over so everyone can bicker. Brie ties to have a death stare as Bliss leaves but good God it’s just comical. This whole thing is the wrong kind of joke.
Rhea Ripley heads to the ring, she’s dressed to work but will talk first. Ripley didn’t expect integrity from Jade Cargill, but she was surprised by B-Fab and Michin to be so desperate that they’d join with Jade. Zero reaction to B-Fab and Michin being referenced. Ripley doesn’t care who she takes on, it’s Mania season. Jade and stooges come out and talk from the ramp. Jade stumbles her words a bit while saying nothing. B-Fab talks again saying very little, Michin chirps in a few times and complains about getting no benefits after years of work while Ripley gets rewards. That’s fine but seriously, aligning with someone like Jade is blatantly hypocritical. Jade then volunteers B-Fab to get her ass kicked by Ripley. Ripley is happy to provide consequences for them. That was a pretty terrible promo segment that sends us to break.
Match #2: Rhea Ripley vs. B-Fab w/ Jade Cargill and Michin
Joined in progress as we come back to Ripley abusing B-Fab. Jade and Michin distract Ripley, she superkicks Michin anyway then jaws with Jade so B-Fab can show up, Ripley headbutts her down then Jade shoves her into the steps for the DQ.
OFFICIAL RESULT: Rhea Ripley won via DQ in :50 shown
Rating: DUD
Thoughts: Angle not a match.
In the ring Ripley gets the better of Jade before Michin and B-Fab show up to attack and Ripley gets left laying again.
In the back Kit Wilson talks with a disheveled Miz, Miz can’t handle the curse it seems. Miz says Kit doesn’t need him and he’s going to go to a safe room. Kit and Miz both deny a curse while Miz runs over all the bad things that have happened to him this week. Miz leaves, but here’s Danhausen to talk with Kit. Danhausen asks why Miz mentors Kit instead of him, and Kit says he’s good looking while Danhausen looks like this, and Danhausen then curses Kit before we head to break. Pretty poor first hour of wrestling TV overall. Miz and Danhausen are a great comedy duo though.
Post break we get a recap of the Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu three hour brawl from last week. After that we see Drew, bandaged and banged up, arriving and Cathy asks how he is physically. Drew is stubborn and angry so he’s walking, he still hurts from last week but he’s not here to fight. Frankly he’s in no condition to fight, but if Fatu wants to start something he’ll finish it. Now Drew’s got nothing to lose so he’s at his most dangerous.
Back to the ring and here’s Jelly Roll followed by Kit Wilson. Wilson gets a mic and wants to read poetry to defend his mother’s honor after last week. He accuses Jelly of lying about meeting his mother, but Wilson’s mother would never choose him as a lover. Cheap shot from Wilson before the match starts with a book.
Match #3: Kit Wilson vs. Jelly Roll
Running uppercut from Wilson then some strikes but Jelly blocks a dropkick then with the one man scissor me timbers, then a Manhattan Drop and an Atomic Drop. Wilson tries to skin the cat but Jelly then clotheslines him out of the ring. Wilson throws a hissy fit and tries to use the poetry book. Jelly gets the book but the ref takes it away so Wilson takes over and hits another corner uppercut. Wilson with some punches then a hip swivel. Some corner work from Wilson then he tries another running uppercut but Jelly dodges and hits a belly to belly suplex to put both men down. Both men fight upright and start trading strikes, Jelly gets the better of things including a Bionic Elbow. Wilson avoids a chokeslam then boots Jelly, and jumps into a powerslam for a 2 count. Crosschop from Wilson, Jelly gets the book and misses a swing, Wilson then hits a Turn E Kit but only a near fall. That move still looks terrible. Jelly counters a Turn E Kit and sends Wilson into the corner then hits a Chokeslam to win.
OFFICIAL RESULT: Jelly Roll won in 5:42
Rating: 2.5 stars
Thoughts: Not great but the crowd were into it, and they did a decent job of keeping Jelly from having to do much athletic which hasn’t been his strong suit previously.
Jelly celebrates with his son after the win.
In the back Cardona warms up for his match with Randy later tonight. After this break we’ll get a recap of RAW, you know in case you missed it.
Post break we do get that recap from RAW, focused on CM Punk and Roman Reigns saga.
In the back the Temu Bloodline talks. Solo says he does everything out of love, he knows how great they can be and he needs to lead the family. But he can’t lead if everyone’s not on the same page. But also last week was a bit much so he apologizes. Unlike Roman, who would never apologize. They leave except for Tama who talks with Carmelo Hayes as Hayes asks if Tama is going to finally take a shot at the belt or wait for Solo’s say so. Hayes leaves and Nakamura shows up to ask the same thing, Talla Tonga is here to make everything worse, Tama says he’s good and they leave.
To the ring and here’s Carmelo Hayes for the US open challenge, we’ll find out his challenger after this break.
Post break Hayes waits for his opponent, it’s Sami Zayn who’s now desperate for a Mania match and looking to turn heel so expect cheating and a new champion. Oh, before the match can start here’s Trick Williams and his over chant. I imagine he’ll be ringside.
Match #4 – US Title Match: (c) Carmelo Hayes vs. Sami Zayn
Tie up, Sami goes for an arm wringer and then they trade escapes before Hayes hits the ropes and runs into an arm drag then a crucifix from Sami. They trade strikes with Sami getting the better of things then he lands a clothesline to floor Hayes. Corner chops from Sami, Hayes the chops back at him and they trade some more strikes. Springboard clothesline from Hayes then some corner work, an enziguri then springboard fade away leg drop to send us to break.
More corner work from Hayes, but Sami turns things around with a 10 punch then some stomps. Hayes fights back and kicks Sami down then attacks the leg. Suplex from Hayes gets a 2 count. Fade away DDT from Hayes and he’s just cruising at the moment. Chin lock from Hayes, the crowd chant for Trick which amuses Hayes. Sami rolls free but takes a superkick. Headbutt from Hayes as we rejoin the broadcast. Enzui clothesline from Hayes to a kneeling Sami, then another one. Sami starts fighting back with punches then clotheslines Hayes out of the ring and follows with a dive in front of commentary. Sami trades some words with Trick before heading back into the ring, Sami goes up top but leaps into a dropkick from Hayes for a 2 count. Hayes hits the ropes and hits a lovely Dirty Diana for a 2 count. Sami blocks a First 48 and hits a Powerbomb for a 2 count. Now Sami lines up a Helluva Kick but Hayes avoids it and hits a gamen giri then Hayes up top but Sami punches him into a sitting position. They fight over position on the top rope, Sami wants a superplex and hits it to put both men down and send us picture in picture.
Both men slowly pull themselves up, and Sami starts landing strikes. They trade some elbows and chops then Sami hits a Michinoku Driver for a near fall. Chop from Sami then a suplex attempt, they fight over that spot and eventually Hayes hits a Black Crush for a 2 count. Hayes really does need to retire that move, it just doesn’t work well for him. Both men pull themselves up and Hayes with a corner chop then he puts Sami up top. They fight over position again as we come back to broadcast. Sami is able to fight back and hits a Sunset Flip Powerbomb for a near fall. Some elbows from Sami but Hayes gives them back then lands a superkick. Corner Exploder Suplex from Sami then he lines up the Helluva Kick again, but Hayes intercepts with the First 48 for a near fall. Hayes heads up top, Sami attacks him though and then climbs up with him again. Hayes shoves Sami down, but Sami counters Nothing But Net with a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall. Trick takes the US title belt and walks around the ring with it. He slides the belt into the ring to Sami, Sami hands it to the ref then Trick accidentally clocks Hayes behind the refs back, Sami then just kills Hayes with a Helluva Kick to win the belt.
OFFICIAL RESULT: Sami Zayn won the title in 16:15
Rating: 3.5 stars
Thoughts: Good match, the crowd were definitely into the near falls down the stretch but the lack of real story besides Sami’s desperation hurt this a bit. Ditto the involvement of Trick which was expected but still a bit of a downer. Hayes losing the belt here feels odd, I don’t know what else he was going to do with it besides more weekly matches but it still feels like he’s got no direction without it. Rumors have been going of Ilja taking on Gunther for Mania, while Hayes might wind up out in the cold, which is a damn shame if that’s how it plays out.
Sami celebrates with the belt while Trick seems pissed and Hayes isn’t happy either.
In the back Jacob Fatu limps up some stairs then Cathy talks with him about his condition. The Samoan Werewolf isn’t here to stay backstage, he’s got something to say to the people from the ring and heads that way as we head to break.
Post break we find happy Sami walking in the back with his belt. Sami finds Aldis and asks about the US title getting onto Mania, which actually hasn’t happened recently so he’s not helping himself much. Aldis says Sami now has a spot at Mania and will defend the US title against Trick. Obvious but not bad.
Fatu’s music hits and here comes the Samoan Werewolf. Fatu gets a mic and plays with the crowd then enjoys some “Fatu” chants before saying he’s limping, was bleeding, has cracked ribs, and it’s all got to do with Drew McIntyre. He asks what is wrong with Drew, Drew tried to end Fatu and take food from his children. Kicking his teeth out didn’t work, a belt shot wouldn’t keep Fatu down, hitting him with a car wouldn’t keep him down, or falling from a building, none of it will keep Fatu down. So Drew, you did all that but Fatu is still standing, and as long as he’s got air in his lungs then every week he’s gonna dog walk Drew’s punk ass. Just in case you didn’t get it, that does bring out the similarly banged up Drew with his own mic. Drew stays on the entrance stage to talk, and says Fatu isn’t the victim but Drew is. Fatu started this by accusing him of a crime he didn’t commit, and he says Fatu is guilty as a criminal. Since Fatu got out of prison he’s stolen from Drew, the title, his Mania spot, everything. Fatu seems unphased. Drew says Fatu is taking his food too, so look in my eyes so you know he means this from the bottom of his heart, “screw your damn kids”. Fatu heads out of the ring but here’s Aldis to prevent violence tonight. Aldis says they can’t do it tonight, but by Mania both men should be healed up. At Mania we get Drew and Fatu, but they’re liabilities so Aldis and WWE wont be responsible for what happens in an unsanctioned match. With all the standing comments from Fatu I thought we might to Last Man Standing but unsanctioned works just fine. Those two will do glorious violence.
In the back Jelly talks with Cardona and they talk about Randy and their long history with him. Jelly says Cody’s on the way, Cardona says to tell Cody to stay out of his fight tonight because he’s going to kick Randy’s ass. Aleister Black and Zelina show up to make fun of Cardona for fighting for his damaged ego. Black takes credit for the return of the old Viper before they leave.
Tiffany Stratton walks and finds the wheelchair bound Chelsea Green. Green says they got off on the wrong foot and offers to be a resource for Tiffany. Tiffany brings up Green losing the US title, so thanks but no thanks, then she skips off. Alba Fyre wheels Green away.
Back to the ring and here’s Giulia along with Kiana James as we head to break with her non-title match with Tiffany up next.
Post break here comes Tiffany.
Match #5: Giulia w/ Kiana James vs. Tiffany Stratton
Real close to that 25 minutes between matches here. They tie up and Giulia grabs a side headlock then hits the ropes before grabbing an arm wringer. Tiffany counters and escapes. Test of Strength attempt then Giulia lands a kick and starts ramming Tiffany into corners before throwing her by the hair. Tiffany cartwheels out of a throw then evades Giulia before hitting a dropkick, well “hitting” but Giulia sells anyway. Some corner work from Tiffany, the crowd does not care about this match right now though. They sort of mess up a facebuster or headlock driver and that sends us to break as Giulia powders. Rough start to this one.
Tiffany yanks Giulia back to the apron but Giulia snaps her down over the top rope. Giulia takes over now, hits a hip thrust through the face then unloads with corner work. Low dropkick from Giulia. Tiffany with some strikes but runs into a clothesline from Giulia. Mid rope work from Giulia as she rakes the face and nose of Tiffany then hits a running dropkick to the lower back. Bit of a face lock from Giulia as we come back to broadcast. Tiffany fights free then hits the ropes for a shoulder block. Giulia grabs a sleeper hold but Tiffany shoves her off and hits a bit of a Sky High to put both women down. Tiffany fires up with strikes then hits the handspring back elbow in the corner and follows with a cartwheel Alabama Slam for a 2 count. Giulia avoids a Finlay Roll and clobbers Tiffany, but Tiffany returns the elbow and hits a hip attack but Giulia avoids a low double stomp and hits a back suplex. Arrivederci Knee from Giulia but only a 2 count, and no pop from the crowd. Giulia puts Tiffany up top the climbs up with her, she wants the avalanche Butterfly supelx but Tiffany fights free and hits a release Gordbuster and follows with a Swanton Bomb for a near fall. That was a Jeff Hardy style landing, all weight onto Giulia. Giulia kicks Tiffany, Tiffany avoids a Glorious Driver and hits a Finlay Roll but James distracts Tiffany so she’s slow on the Prettiest Moonsault Ever which lets Giulia get the knees up the grab a Small Package to get the 3 count.
OFFICIAL RESULT: Giulia won in 9:44
Rating: 2 stars
Thoughts: Fine enough match but the crowd didn’t care. They still haven’t figured out how to present Giulia, at this point I think she’d be better on RAW where her style fits more with the other women. Smackdown is very “sports entertainment” styled on the female side of things minus Ripley who only showed up after winning the Chamber.
In the back Bayley and Lyra walk, Cathy finds them and asks them about being here. They came here to establish some dominance and make it known they’re a real team and a real threat going into winning the belts on Monday.
Elsewhere Randy’s on the phone with his nefarious other voice. He says he’ll see whoever it is soon and we head to break, after which we’ll get yet another RAW recap. FML, what are we doing here?
Post break we get the promised RAW recap, you know, in case you missed it. This one focuses on Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi.
After that commentary runs down the Mania card for us, including recently made Fatu vs. Drew in an Unsanctioned Match, plus Sami vs. Trick for the US title.
To the ring and here’s Randy Orton to another babyface reaction and we head back to break.
Post break Randy waits and here comes Cardona.
Match #6: Randy Orton vs. Matt Cardona
Randy immediately drops and stomps on Cardona. Cardona whacks Randy with the cast on his left arm then lands elbows in the corner. Randy powders, Cardona follows but gets kicked then Randy slams the left arm and wrist onto the announce table then hits the release back suplex on the table. Randy throws some chairs around then slams Cardona’s arm again before dropping him back fist onto the barricade. They’re really trying as Randy keeps going after the bad arm but the crowd are just relentlessly pro-Randy as he stomps the arm of Cardona on the table. Back in the ring now Cardona tries to fight back with some strikes then hits a Rough Rider for a 2 count. Again Randy powders, this time up the ramp. Cardona tries to follow but takes an eye poke. Randy resumes the arm attack but hammerlocking the arm then ramming it into the ring post. Next Randy bounces the arm off the ring steps then they head back into the ring. Randy posts Cardona, there’s just no sympathy for him as Randy yanks off the soft cast on Cardona’s arm then he yanks on the wrist of Cardona. To follow up Randy slams the arm into the ring post a few times then hits a suplex. Randy looks deranged as he stomps the bad arm, but the crowd cheer him. Cardona gets posted again and Randy goes back to yanking the arm around the top turnbuckle. RKO from Randy but he’s not in a good mood so no pin. The crowd chant “one more time” as Randy looks, but he’s a heel now you fools so he denies the request and pins to win.
OFFICIAL RESULT: Randy Orton won in 6:26
Rating: Acorn SQUASH
Thoughts: Delicious squash.
We see Cody’s bus arrive and here’s the American Nightmare himself to a good reaction as we head to break with Cody walking from the parking lot.
Cody walks through the back, some goons try to stop him but Cody just shoves through them. He heads through all the familiar hallways while Randy just waits for him in the ring. Cody stops to talk with Jelly briefly and get some encouragement. We’ve rejoined broadcast I think as a couple of goons are in the ring with Randy, so Randy mercs them with ease. Cody’s music hits as we’ve definitely rejoined broadcast. Cody heads towards the ring but here’s Aldis and more security goons to try and prevent violence. Aldis tries to talk with Cody but Cody says he’s just here to talk tonight. Cody gets to the apron, Randy stares him down, and Cody then charges and does his talking with his fists. Both men go back and forth then Randy tries to escape but Cody chases him and they fight around the commentary table. Security gets taken out by both Cody and Randy then Cody tosses Randy into the timekeepers area. Randy tries a chair shot but Cody avoids it and punches him down. They keep fighting through security, and Cody rakes the eyes then punches away at Randy. Cody just wont be deterred and Randy looks to escape around the ringside area. Randy throws a goon and Cody attacks him again then rams him into a ring post. They head into the ring and Cody keeps unloading on Randy with punches before security pulls the two men apart. The crowd want them to keep fighting so Cody breaks free and resumes attacking Randy before getting separated again. Now it’s Randy’s turn to break free and resume the brawl momentarily. After that Randy powders and abuses a few more goons before Cody shows back up to attack Randy on the announce table. Punches from Cody to the downed Randy before they’re separated yet again. Back in the ring Cody and Randy keep brawling while the goons pull them apart yet again. Yet again Cody gets free and attacks, we’ve been doing this same pattern for several minutes now, let’s get to the climax please. Here’s Jelly Roll to try and help keep peace, he talks with Randy then Cody, then Jelly turns into an RKO from Randy. Big cheers for that then Randy escapes up the ramp to “Randy” chants. The crowd was actually pro-Cody enough not to boo him but they’re just refusing to give Randy heat as the episode ends.
