Diva Dirt recently interviewed WOW-Women of Wrestling talent Erica Porter, aka Jungle Grrrl. Below are some highlights.

Jungle Grrrl on working with WOW back in 2000: “The original audition that they had back in early 2000. And then we started training in July of 2000. And then we put our first show on in September of 2000. And it was when I tell you one of the most extraordinary experiences that I have ever had — I have had a lot of great moments where you cannot duplicate those moments — either the feeling, the experience, and WOW has been a part of so many firsts for me in such amazing ways that any way I can pay tribute or homage or anything and that respect to its founders, its vision, all of that. … I’ve gotten to know David and Selina [Majors] throughout the years and have a tremendous amount of respect for everything that they’ve done and holding firm to what they believe in. It really has been quite the journey.”

Jungle Grrl on her loyalty with WOW founder David McLane: “That’s why my loyalty lies with him, even when I went off and wrestled on the independent circuit. I mean at that time, WOW had folded unfortunately. That was the result of some poor business decisions. And it happens, but at that point, I had fell in love with the business. I had fell in love with being in the ring and had wanted to continue that. If I could do it everyday, I would do it everyday. It’s been an incredible journey. I’m really very honored to start with it and see it continue. Even when I hang up my boots that I wear, I’ll remain with the company to some extent, whether that’s continuing to build the culture of the company — which I am really passionate about — and David will tell you that’s first and foremost what I always talked about, which is you cannot have a cancer in the company. The women have to match that culture, and if they don’t, you have to get rid of them immediately.”
