Kendal Grey Reflects On Bianca Belair Comparisons, Talks EVOLVE Women’s Title Win

Kendal Grey is the new EVOLVE Women’s Champion, and she recently reflected on her title win and fans comparing her to Bianca Belair. Grey captured the EVOLVE Women’s Championship on last week’s episode with a win over Kali Armstrong. The new champ spoke with The Wrestling History Channel for a new interview and you can see some highlights below:

On People Comparing Her To Bianca Belair:

“She is so good at what she does, and obviously I have so much work to catch up to her. Because she is so much more experienced than me. But for people to see that future for me? I would hope that can happen one day. But it’s a cool feeling. You know, I know I’m putting in the work and I’m trying to get better every single day. And it’s just a cool feeling.”

On How She Was Feeling Heading Into Her Title Match:

“You know, I definitely was nervous. I can’t lie and say I wasn’t nervous. I had butterflies. I was nervous for the outcome. But I just had to believe in my training. I had to believe in myself and just have confidence in who I am, and what I bring to the table, and just let it fly. You know, birds don’t think about flying. They just go out there and fly, and that’s what I had to do.”

On Being the Face of Evolve As Champion:

“Feels great. I feel like when you’re looking at yourself, it’s hard to see that, you know? But it’s it’s a great feeling. And I hope that I can continue to get better every time I step in the ring, make people want to watch evolve, come and tune in. And wa to see us and all the other talent develop into who we are. And every time we get in that ring, we’re trying to get better. And I hope people just tune in and try to see that, that we’re all so passionate about it. And we want to continue to grow, and I hope they see how hard we’re trying to work.”
