Reigning AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander recently reflected on her time with the Best Friends stable and admitted that she’d love to be a part of a faction again.
Statlander has been a solo act since her days with Best Friends came to an end in May 2024. She is currently in possession of the top prize on offer in the AEW women’s division, the Women’s World Championship.
In a recent interaction with Wrestfriends, Kris Statlander opened up about being a part of Best Friends and her prospects as far as being a member of a stable is concerned.
“I personally love having people to work with and play off of. I feel like I’m more comfortable surrounded by people that share the same wavelength that I do, which is why I think me being with Best Friends early on; we were such a charmed group. Everyone was charmed by us, whether they loved us or hated us,” she said.
“Personally, I feel like I love getting to be surrounded by people I love and have fun with me. I’m all about wrestling being fun. When we are intentionally hurting ourselves and travelling all the time, the least I want out of my day is to enjoy it. There’s so many people in wrestling that make it worthwhile. I would love to be in a faction again. I understand why nobody is cool with me at the moment, totally understand. Definitely, I can make amends with people, and we can work towards… I can work towards having a family of my own again. But right now, I have to just cruise along and understand that it’s okay to be yourself sometimes.”
