CMLL announced today that wrestler La Catalina exited the promotion, effective April 1, 2026. Today’s statement reads (via Google Translate), “The World Wrestling Council informs that, effective from April 1, 2026, La Catalina has ceased to be part of the CMLL Amazonas roster. CMLL wishes her success in her future endeavors.”
According to a report by BodySlam+, La Catalina was unhappy with her booking and mainly being featured as an extra/filler talent recently. She had been prominently used in the company last year, including a high-profile matchup against AEW star Mercedes Mone at Fantastica Mania.
The report notes that La Catalina started being relegated to lower parts of the card when more AEW women’s wrestlers started making more appearances in CMLL. The wrestler later announced that she did not intend to renew her contract, feeling there was nothing else for her to do in CMLL, and the promotion didn’t fit where she wanted to take her career moving forward.
Although not yet official, BodySlam notes that some within CMLL believe that she could be heading to AAA next. The rival promotion was acquired by WWE last year.
