Oba Femi is clearly headed for the main roster after vacating the NXT Championship this week, and new reports have details on the company’s plans for him. Femi vacated the championship at the end of NXT New Year’s Evil following his title defense against TNA’s Leon Slater. As most rightfully assumed, he is headed to the main roster and both BodySlam.net and Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select have details on the matter.
Both sites report that Femi is being discussed for Raw specifically, with big plans for him going forward. Bodyslam notes that Femi’s work and presentation has impressed many within the company, and he is viewed as a major part of the company’s present and future.
WrestleVotes on Fightful Select reports that Femi is expected to debut “near the top of the card,” and that there are pushes within creative for him to be prominently featured at WrestleMania. Sean Ross Sapp has confirmed the obvious: that Femi’s vacation of the NXT Championship was due to imminent plans on the main roster. The report notes that the creative team on the main roster didn’t want Femi to take a loss in order to have him drop the title.
