Layla Diggs Becomes #1 Contender to Women’s North American Title On WWE NXT

Layla Diggs defeated three other competitors to become the new NXT Women’s North American Championship #1 contender on this week’s WWE NXT. Tuesday night’s episode featured a Fatal Four-Way match with Diggs, Thea Hail, Izzi Dame, and Lizzy Rain competing for a future shot at the title held by Zaria.

The match was a back and forth affair, with Rain in control in the final stretch of the match. She hit Dame with a running headbutt, but Hail caught her with a crucifix pin for a nearfall. Hail missed a crossbody and Rain hit her Thunderstruck finisher, only to be nailed with a flying knee from Dame sending her and Rain to the floor. Diggs then hit a moonsault on Hail for the pin and title shot.

You can see clips from the WWE NXT match below. Zaria has had the NXT Women’s North American Championship for 29 days, having won it from Tatum Paxley on the June 9th episode of NXT. Diggs will get her title shot against Zaria on next week’s episode.
