Speaking to Baby Huey with 107.7 The Bone, AEW World Champion MJF discussed his upcoming Texas Death Match against Hangman Page at AEW Revolution 2026 later this weekend. Below are some highlights:

MJF on His Feelings About Facing Hangman Page in a Texas Death Match

“Look, it’s complicated. Um, you know, a part of me is obviously upset. I don’t believe in this kind of professional wrestling. I think this is the kind of professional wrestling is hack and very indie and trash and garbage, which is why Hangman loves to do it. But the part of me that is happy is that I really know for a fact I’m going to win. There’s no part of me that’s questioning that. And the idea of ensuring that he could never be world champion again, just literally I — if you see this belt move, it’s because I can get hard just at the thought of it.”

On How You Prepare for a Texas Death Match

“You don’t. Stick and move. That’s pretty much the only option that I have is stick and move. I’ve been watching a lot of old tapes of Muhammad Ali. gonna try to rope a dope this ***hole tire him out, and then from there, I’m gonna take advantage of the situation. That’s the goal. And I know he’s not gonna watch this because I think he lives in the woods somewhere. No internet. Absolutely not. He’s a bumpkin.”

MJF and Hangman Page face off for the AEW World Championship in a Texas Death Match tomorrow at AEW Revolution 2026. The pay-per-view event is being held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. It will be broadcast live on pay-per-view.
