MJF found his Championship Celebration disrupted by first Mark Briscoe, then RUSH on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Wednesday night’s show saw the newly-crowned champion, who won the title from Darby Allin at AEW Double Or Nothing, come out to the ring carried on a throne for his celebration, only to find his fun interrupted twice.

MJF first cut a promo mocking Darby Allin for losing to a headlock takeover and then crowing about how he’s only one of a handful of men to be three-time world champion before they were 30 in major promotions. He said that this is the greatest era imaginable because it will be all about him as the three-time champion of the world.

As MJF continued on, Briscoe came out to the ring, tearing down the champion’s banner as he did. He said that the Salt of the Earth didn’t fit in Philadelphia where some of the toughest people in the world live. Briscoe called MJF self-absorbed and pointed out that he pinned MJF not too long ago. He challenged the champion to a title match, but got shot down because MJF claimed having someone like Briscoe challenging for the title would be awful for AEW’s image.

The champion went to leave before RUSH walked out and said that MJF was afraid. He said he’s come close to beating the champion and issued his own challenge for the title. MJF agreed to the match for next week’s AEW Dynamite.

AEW Dynamite takes place in Richmond, Virginia from the Siegel Center. We’ll have an updated card for the show after tonight’s episode ends.
