MJF & Ryohei Oiwa Get Heated in Social Media Exchange

The war of words between MJF and Ryohei Oiwa continues. Earlier this week, AEW star Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) and G1 Climax 36 winner Ryohei Oiwa got into it when Oiwa heard about some remarks from MJF, and Oiwa challenged MJF to compete in the next G1 Climax. MJF said in response, “Tell that ****ing dork Oiwa he’d be lucky to lace my boots, let alone meet me in a ring.”

Their verbal sparring continued on social media last night when MJF commented on ROH’s Adam Brooks, propping him up at the expense of the NJPW roster and taking a shot at Oiwa. He initially wrote, “I like the cut of @theadambrooksy jib. He’s much better than all New Japan talent. Especially Oiwa.”

That drew a response from Oiwa, who commented, “Don’t underestimate New Japan. If you’re scared of stepping into G1 next year, I’ll come storming into your ring myself. Let’s decide the No. 1 headlock wrestler.”

MJF later responded, “Nobody knows who you are in America, chief. You’re a boy talking to a man who is the best professional wrestler in the WORLD. Don’t chat me up about your ****ty little mark tournament. I’ll fight you anywhere. And I’ll beat you with a headlock takeover.”

It remains to be seen if AEW and NJPW will take them up on that offer. AEW and New Japan are promotional partners, and that could potentially make it easier to put a matchup together between the two wrestlers.
