A new report has some additional details on the reported plan in WWE to rebuild its tag team division. As noted earlier today, a report by False Finish HQ said that WWE is looking to reconstruct the division “from within.” The report also noted that WWE could be signing teams from other promotions.

A report from F4W Online’s Bryan Alvarez has slightly conflicting news. Alvarez says that while WWE is looking to reconstitute the tag division, sources have said that WWE doesn’t “really have much interest” in outside tag teams currently. Rather, the company is focusing on newly-made teams such as The Miz and Kit Wilson, while there are some teams from NXT that will likely be called up soon.

WWE released a number of tag teams in its post-WrestleMania roster cuts. Among those cut were the Motor City Machine Guns, the Wyatt Sicks, and the MFT’s JC Mateo (Jeff Cobb) and Tonga Loa. The New Day also chose to leave WWE rather than accept a restructuring of their contracts that would have resulted in a pay cut.

No word on which NXT teams could be called up, nor potential new tag teams being made. R-Truth and Damian Priest currently hold the WWE Tag Team Championships on Smackdown, while Logan Paul and Austin Theory hold the World Tag Team Championships on Raw.
