NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka Results 2.11.25: Goto Wins Title, The Young Bucks Lose Tag Belts

– NJPW held The New Beginning in Osaka earlier today at the Edion Arena Osaka in Osaka, Japan. The event had an announced attendance of 5,502 people. As noted, the event saw Hirooki Goto beat Zack Sabre Jr. to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Title. Also, The Young Bucks lost the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Titles to LIJ’s Tetsuya Naito and Hiromu Takahashi.
NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka streamed live on NJPW World. Below are some results, per New Japan’s website:
* The United Empire (Francesco Akira & Jeff Cobb) defeated El Desperado & Katsuya Murashima at 8:20. Akira and Desperado shared a staedown after the match.
* Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Togi Makabe at 9:24.
* Drilla Moloney beat Shingo Takagi at 10:40.
* The Great-O-Khan beat Shota Umino at 9:38. After the match, Shota Umino shaved his head.
* SANADA defeated Taichi at 8:35. Yuya Uemura later returned from injury and made the save Taichi.
* IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships Match: Ichiban Sweet Boys (Kosei Fujita & Robbie Eagles) (c) beat Roppongi ReVice (Rocky Romero & YOH) to retain the title at 11:43.
* Taiji Ishimori issues challenge for IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Titles. Says he’ll team with Robbie X.
* NEVER Openweight Championship Match: Konosuke Takeshita (c) beat Oleg Boltin at 11:33 to retain the title. Ryohei Oiwa later confronted Takeshita after the match.
* IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships Match: Los Ingobernables de Japon (Hiromu Takahashi & Tetsuya Naito) beat The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson) (c) to win the titles at 9:48.
* IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship Match: Yota Tsuji (c) vs. Gabe Kidd ended in a Double KO at 21:24. After the match, EVIL returned to New Japan and attacked both men. He proclaimed there would be no alliance between the War Dogs and House of Torture.
* IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Match: Hirooki Goto beat Zack Sabre Jr. (c) at 20:07 to win the title. This is the first IWGP Heavyweight Championship of Goto’s 23-year career.
* Goto later named Hiroshi Tanahashi as his first title defense. Yuji Nagata also challenged Goto for a title bout as well later.
