Recycling magnate Adam Weitsman appeared at commentary for a match at WrestleMania 42, and a new report has a bit of detail about the matter. Weitsman, the owner of Upstate Shredding – Weitsman Recycling as well as crypto company Viridium, raised eyebrows among fans when he appeared alongside Wade Barrett and Michael Cole on WrestleMania 42 night two. Weitsman was introduced as a “guest commentator” but didn’t speak and didn’t even have a microphone attached to his headset.
It has been speculated that Weitsman paid to be at the table for the match, and Fightful Select reports that this is true. WWE sources claim that Weitsman paid to be ringside for the match. It’s not clear whether he specifically sought this match or just wanted to be ringside for a match; this was the one he ended up at.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that he also believed (though did not confirm) that Weitsman had paid for the spot. Weitsman is a billionaire, with an estimated net worth of at least $1.5 billion. He sat at the booth to watch Ripley defeat Jade Cargill to regain the WWE Women’s Championship on night two of the PLE.
