F4WOnline.com’s Bryan Alvarez reported some new details on John Cena versus Gunther at this weekend’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. The bout will be Cena’s final match of his career.
Bryan Alvarez reported to his subscribers on X that the Cena vs. Gunther bout will open the show, and it’s said that “Cena will have as much time as he needs.” Additionally, Alvarez reported that Saturday Night’s Main Event has “no set runtime,” and “everyone will get all the time they need” for the upcoming event.
Previously, Saturday Night’s Main Event broadcasts had hard outs as they were also airing on NBC. However, this weekend’s event is only streaming live on Peacock. Alvarez’s rumor suggests that WWE won’t have a hard out or cutoff time for the show.
This would also suggest that WWE won’t have to rush any of the post-match festivities, and Cena’s sendoff will be given room to breathe, receiving more grandeur and pomp.
This was not the case for WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg’s final match against Gunther on Saturday Night’s Main Event earlier this year. It resulted in the post-match celebration, where Goldberg cut a promo, being cut off due to the NBC broadcast hard out earlier in July.
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, featuring John Cena vs. Gunther in Cena’s last match, goes down on December 13 at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. It will air live on Peacock in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally. Here’s the updated lineup:
* John Cena vs. Gunther
* Cody Rhodes vs. Oba Femi
* Bayley vs. Sol Ruca
* AJ Styles & Dragon Lee vs. Je’Von Evans & Leon Slater
