NWA Issues Statement On ‘Insensitive’ Comments From Odinson

The NWA has issued a statement on “insensitive” comments that were made by Odinson in a recent Instagram video. The wrestling promotion issued the statement on Twitter on Tuesday to distance themselves from the comments made by Odinson, who is currently one-half of the NWA World Tag Team Champions alongside Kratos as The Immortals.

Details on the video, which has been removed, are not clear at this time. Fightful reports that the video, which escaped notice from most at the time, contained comments “that were labeled as homophobic.”

The statement reads:

“The NWA would like to sincerely apologize for the insensitive comments made by Odinson on social media. These statements do not reflect the values, views, or beliefs of the NWA organization. We do not condone hateful or offensive remarks of any kind and remain committed to fostering a respectful and inclusive environment for everyone in our community.

NWA PRESIDENT AND CEO,
William Patrick Corgan”

The Immortals have held the NWA World Tag Team Championships for 283 days, having defeated Knox and Murdoch for them at the NWA 77th Anniversary Show in August of last year.
