STARDOM Goddesses of Stardom Tag League Night 1

November 7th, 2025 | Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan | Attendance: 1,127

Like New Japan, STARDOM’s Tag League isn’t exactly a high point of the year for the promotion. Alas, I will do my best to cover it and we start with a notable night one in Korakuen Hall.

I’m still waiting on Marigold’s big PPV to become available on demand and for STARDOM’s latest PPV.

Blue Goddesses Block: New Sisters [0] vs. Sakurara [0]

New Sisters are Konami and Rina, while Sakurara are Aya Sakura and Sayaka Kurara. Konami is now a double champion, being 1/3 of the Artist of Stardom Champion and the new Wonder of Stardom Champion. Meanwhile, Sakurara hold the New Blood Tag Titles. Pretty standard stuff in terms of the structure here. New Sisters are the bigger stars and they dominated significant portions of this, with Sakurara having to make a comeback. Tag formula, baby. Aya took a fair bit of the beating and Sayaka got to do the hot tag stuff. Konami looked to be in top form. Maybe getting a bigger push has motivated her. She was laying in her kicks. Aya traded some with her late and hit a nice German suplex for two. She got a couple of close calls before falling to a Gory Bomb/Facebuster combo and an armbar by Konami in 10:26. A good start to the tournament. Some quality tag team wrestling here. [***¼]

Blue Goddesses Block:  02line [0] vs. Gorilla Trigger [0]

02line is AZM and Miyu Amasaki, while Gorilla Trigger is Bea Priestley and Saya Iida. Saya without Hanan makes me sad. That said, I am intrigued by Bea and Saya as a powerhouse duo. That made this a speed vs. strength matchup, which is usually right up my alley. The standout here was everything between AZM and Saya. Those two were so smooth together and they really played up AZM’s quickness combating Saya’s sheer power upper hand. Every move and strike from Saya was impactful, while AZM was a blur. Miyu and Bea were fine but the parts of the match involving them didn’t really take this to the next level. Saya saved Bea from a potential loss and then they hit a tandem wheelbarrow/DDT move. When that wasn’t enough, Bea beat Miyu with Plan B in 9:36. Two matches in and two cases of “hit double team move for two, then win with singles finisher.” That’s a choice. Anyway, another good match. [***]

Blue Goddesses Block: Anecon [0] vs. Chimidoro Onni-juku [0]

Anecon is Saki Kashima and Syuri, while the long name duo is Suzu Suzuki and Rina Yamashita. I love the Saki/Syuri pairing. The teams showed respect with handshakes but an unsure Saki made the mistake of turning her back, allowing Rina to pull her into a suplex at the bell. Saki got her comedic bits out of the way early, mixing that in while getting her ass kicked by the tough heel duo. Once Syuri got the tag, the action picked up as she was just trading big blows with Suzu Suzuki. Those two had an incredible match in the Grand Prix two years ago. Yamashita was also game to go toe-to-toe with Syuri, giving us some really good hard hitting exchanges. Saki fought hard down the stretch too and ultimately got the huge win with a rollup of Yamashita after 8:13. Another really enjoyable tag. This tournament is off to a strong start. [***¼]

Red Goddesses Block: Mei Seira and Yuna Mizumori [0] vs. Miku Kanae and Sareee [0]

We move over to the other block for this one. I’m intrigued by the Mei/Yuna duo since they’re from different factions but seem to have a mutual respect after their title matches. Sareee, ever the aggressor, dropkicked Yuna during introductions to give her team the upper hand. She was in a bad mood after losing the IWGP Title. Thankfully, they didn’t go the HATE route with generic brawling outside, keeping things in the ring. Sareee was vicious throughout, which was combated by the impressive teamwork of Mei and Yuna. You’d think they’ve been teaming together for a long time. They were damn near seamless as a team. Solo stuff gave us a few awkward moments like when Mei got a tag and got kind of stuck on a springboard move where her opponents just stood there waiting or when Mei flubbed a Blockbuster. Sareee was a total asshole, at one point just stepping on Yuna to walk over her. Alas, her partner Miku was there to take the loss, falling to a lariat from Yuna in 10:36. That was a spirited encounter filled with energy and action. [***½]

Red Goddesses Block: Dos Locas de México [0] vs. Natsupoi and Saori Anou [0]

Dos Locas de México is actually Hazuki and Konami under their CMLL alter egos, which is really cool. That means these are two teams that I really enjoy. Osita is Koguma and Teotleco is Hazuki. I appreciated that they didn’t wrestle like FWC. They brought out new moves, individually and as a team, making for a fresh feeling matchup. Poi and Saori weren’t ready for this, which put them on their heels from the start. I could watch Teotleco and Natsupoi wrestle for hours. They’re that good together. I feel like more people need to talk about how smooth Saori is in the ring. Things picked up down the stretch and DLDM hit a double dropkick off the top before Teotleco nailed a powerbomb that I thought ended it but the pin was broken up. In the end, Poi pulled her into a pinning combination to win in 14:46. That was so much fun. [***½]

Red Goddesses Block: BMI2000 [0] vs. Hina and Ranna Yagami [0]

The tag champions against’ a young God’s Eye duo. Very surprised this is headlining as even with the champs involved, it’s not exactly a big match. Good for Hina and Ranna to get this spot though. Alas, it didn’t live up to the matches before it. I don’t have much to say here (and I already have a second show in the tournament to cover) because it was mostly every other BMI2000 match. They did the usual HATE brawling outside, they played the big bullies and the God’s Eye girls took a beating. They made a solid enough little comeback but never felt like they truly threatened. Ruaka ended up beating Hina with a German suplex a the 10:02 mark. Inoffensive but the worst match on the show. [**¼]

The final score: review Good
The 411
A strong start to the tournament. The Tag League in New Japan is dreadful and the one in STARDOM was solid last year, yet unspectacular. I’m hoping we get quality wrestling like this going forward, with two standout matches.
