STARDOM Goddesses of Stardom Tag League Night 2
November 8th, 2025 | G Messe Gunma in Takasaki, Gunma | Attendance: 675
This tournament got off to a very good start on night one so I’m hoping they can keep up the momentum.
Blue Goddesses Block: HANAKO and Megan Bayne [0] vs. Sakurara [0]
A battle of size against speed. HANAKO has really blossomed since working with Maika in last year’s tournament, when she started using her size to her advantage. Megan Bayne is someone who already does that so well and here, they were able to throw Aya and Sayaka around with the greatest of ease. Aya was able to cut HANAKO down and work the leg a bit, slowing the pace. Bayne got the tag and dominated. They made sure she looked good out there. She did some impressive moves and yet my favorite might’ve just been the forearm she leveled Aya with. Put her on her ass. Sayaka fared better and picked up a near fall or two on flash pins. HANAKO and Bayne each hit a stalling suplex before Bayne beat Sayaka with a powerbomb in 10:12. Solid stuff here. Just what it needed to be. [**¾]
Red Goddesses Block: Miku Kanae and Sareee [0] vs. Reckless Fantasy [0]
Reckless Fantasy is Waka Tsukiyama and Rian. Basically, it’s a duo that will likely go winless in the tournament. They felt like Young Lions here because they brought major effort and had fire in their offense. That said, they were mostly there to get their asses kicked. Sareee seemed to take joy in beating them up and Miku more than did her part in that avenue. The atmosphere was good here too since Waka is popular and Sareee is so hated. Miku and Rian got into an unexpectedly good slugfest late. In the end, Miku picked up the win for her team by hitting Rian with a German suplex in 8:55. Fine little match here. [**¾]
Red Goddesses Block: Akira Kurogane and Bozilla [0] vs. Dos Locas de México [0]
I’m so used to babyface FWC so it’s interesting that DLM are working here. That’s especially interesting against Bozilla. I liked the story here surrounding Bozilla and Akira. Bozilla was hesitant to let Akira start and then to tag her back in given her lack of experience. Bozilla was her dominant self, running over both members of DLM who were just no match for her. They were also bumping their asses off in there. DLM found some openings with lucha style offense and by utilizing their quickness. Akira did get the tag and performed well, including getting thrown around by Bozilla for offense. However, she fell victim to a double powerbomb and then Osita picked her up in the middle of the pin to win with a rear naked choke instead at 8:11. A trend on the show continues as this was solid enough. [**½]
Blue Goddesses Block: Anecon [2] vs. Gorilla Trigger [2]
Two teams that won on night one so the winner will take the lead of the Blue Block. I said it on night one but I love the Saki/Syuri pairing. Syuri was so hyped up when Saki offered to start the match. It’s adorable. As usual, Saki tried to trick Saya with an opening handshake but it backfired. That gave way to the action of the match which was, like the rest of the show so far, largely fine. I do think that the Syuri/Saya exchanges were the high point as those two just work well together. Bea traded blows with Syuri and it seemed like they wanted it to feel like a big deal. In the end, Saki fell victim to her own medicine as Saya beat her with a pinning combination at the 9:00 mark. Another match was pretty good. [**¾]
Blue Goddesses Block: 02line [0] vs. Chimidoro Onni-juku [0]
While nothing has been bad on this card, we need something to crack three stars. This has the chance to do that given one team’s speed and the other’s penchant for brawling. Interestingly, it was AZM and Miyu who did the pre-match attack, looking to get the jump on the heels before they did it. There’s also some history here since Suzu turned on Neo Genesis to start Mi Vida Loca. That gave us a match that filled with action and was pretty intense from bell to bell. Suzu and Rina are good at playing the bullies, while AZM and Miyu can take a beating and get in hope spots at the right time. I liked that shine was given to Miyu against Rina, since they’ve had far fewer chances to showcase themselves compared to AZM and Suzu. The closing stretch was filled with close calls until AZM kept Suzu down with Azumi Sushi in 7:41. A spirited sprint with a fair amount of action. My kind of match. [***¼]
Red Goddesses Block: Hina and Ranna Yagami [0] vs. Natsupoi and Saori Anou [2]
Is this tournament something of a proving ground for Hina and Ranna? They had good 5STARs but giving them back-to-back main events here is an interesting call. Ranna caused immediate problems for Poi with some stiff kicks to the thigh. Poi wasn’t staying down for long though, coming back and laying into Ranna. In a lot of ways, this was a showcase for Hina and Ranna, who were able to hang in tough and go toe-to-toe with two of the company’s top stars. They didn’t look out of place and even threatened to win a handful of times. My favorite part was probably seeing Ranna trade shots with the hard hitting Saori. I also liked that Cosmic Angels were a bit cheeky here and used some heel tactics to help sell the underdog quality of the young girls. Hina and Ranana gave it a good run but Ranna took the pin after a double suplex and German from Saori in 11:58. A good main event. [***]
