Randy Orton Addresses Return, Cody Rhodes Attack On WWE Smackdown

Randy Orton made his return to WWE Smackdown this week and spoke about his attack of Cody Rhodes at WWE SummerSlam. As noted, Orton made his first appearance since WrestleMania 42 on night one, attacking Rhodes during his match with CM Punk and costing Rhodes the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Orton came to the ring on Friday night’s WWE Smackdown and started to speak before Rhodes came to the ring. Rhodes demanded an explanation, and Orton said he owed Rhodes nothing. He said that Rhodes asked for the best version of Orton during their feud leading into WrestleMania 42. He said that he gave Rhodes his best version, and Rhodes won.

Orton said that in that moment, something snapped and the voices came back. He said the voices told him to do whatever he had to in order to kick Rhodes in the face. He knew that the best version of him wouldn’t win his 15th world title, but the worst version can and will. He added that he doesn’t care who has the title because it won’t be Rhodes, who he will make sure is never WWE Champion again.
