Ratings Breakdown For WWE NXT New Year’s Evil

As we previously reported, last Wednesday’s WWE NXT New Year’s Evil was up in viewers from the week before, although it was slightly down in the 18-49 demographic (same rating, lower amount of viewers in the demo). The show had 685,000 viewers and a 0.16 rating (206,000 viewers) in 18-49. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has a more detailed breakdown at how the show performed in other demographics, although the quarterly numbers were not provided.

The show had a 0.12 rating in 18-34, which is strong for NXT. This was due to an increase with women 18-34, one of the best numbers in recent history. It was #24 on cable for the night and #10 in its timeslot. The biggest competition was college basketball on ESPN (which aired until 9:16 PM ET) that had 1,484,000 viewers and a 0.46. College football that aired during the rest of the show had 2,364,000 viewers and a 0.69.

NXT was up 3.5% in viewers in viewership and up 13.7% in 18-34, but down 2.4% in 18-49. It had 43,000 in men 18-34 (down 4.4%), 42,000 in women 18-34 (up 53.6%), 83,000 in men 35-49 (down 23.1%) and 38,000 in women 35-49 (up 22.6%). The audience was 61.2% male in 18-49, which means larger gains with women. It had a 0.11 in 12-17 (up 37.5%), 0.12 in 18-34 (up 13.7%), 0.20 in 35-49 (down 12.9%) and 0.37 in 50+ (up 5.7%).
