Red Velvet has learned from a lot of veteran talent in AEW, and she recently reflected on being taken under the Rhodes family’s wing among others. The ROH Women’s Television Champion worked with Cody Rhodes early in her run with the company. She’s gone on to greater success and she recently spoke with Renee Paquette on AEW Close Up about her mentors and more. You can see highlights below:

On Getting Support From the Rhodes Family:

“Cody was one from the beginning. Dustin, Brandy as well. That’s how it all like, came to the light after with the Shack match and stuff like that. They kind of took me under their wing. I was so grateful. I didn’t know anybody when I got here, like not any big, big names like that. And they took me under their wing.”

On Other Talent She’s Learned From:

“Later down the line, Bryan Danielson… he’s been great to me and just helped me so much in the later parts of AEW.”

“And just even after injury too it was like, he was so helpful in how do I move differently to protect my knee from that time. So that was a good turning point at that point. But I had so many I had Arn Anderson, I had QT [Marshall], so many people just standing behind me when I first got there. And I will just forever be grateful for that.”
