Rick Martel Set For First WrestleCon Appearance Over WWE SummerSlam Weekend

Rick Martel is heading to Minneapolis over WWE SummerSlam weekend for his first-ever WrestleCon appearance. The wrestling convention announced on Wednesday afternoon that the WWE alumnus will be part of the convention’s lineup in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as you can see below.

WrestleCon wrote:

“First time ever appearance at a Wrestlecon event, welcome Rick “The Model” Martel! He will be in attendance on both Saturday and Sunday. Mail order options will also be available for those not able to attend.”

Martel was a big part of WWE from 1980 through 1982 and again 1986 through 1995, coming in as part of the tag team division with Tom Zenk as the Can-Am Connection before being paired with Tito Santana as Strike Force. After he turned heel and became “The Model,” he had a lenghty singles run. He is a former three-time WWF Tag Team Champion, and a former AWA World Heavyweight Champion.
