Road Dogg Explains Why Billy Gunn Can’t Cut Promos, Gunn Jokes About Recent Reunion & More

The New Age Outlaws, i.e., Road Dogg and Billy Gunn, recently reunited at WrestleCon. At the event, the duo spoke to Simon Miller of WhatCulture Wrestling, and what followed next was back-and-forth banter.

Miller asked Road Dogg why he doesn’t let Billy Gunn do the talking. The former SmackDown lead writer replied by claiming that Gunn “sucks” at talking. When Miller asked why he felt that way, Road Dogg said his former tag team partner doesn’t speak “good English.”

“Billy can’t talk. I tried to let him talk several times; he sucks at it. While he looks really good, he just can’t talk. Billy, coz he doesn’t speak good English for one thing. He doesn’t enunciate. He says, ‘I’m gun to!’ He says… He can’t spell ‘good,'” Road Dogg said.

On the secret behind the success as a tag team

“We stick to our strengths. We maximize our strengths and minimize our weaknesses,” Road Dogg said.

Billy Gunn on reuniting with Road Dogg

“Worst day of my life. [On why he did agree to reunite] I didn’t agree to this; my wife did.”

Banter aside, Billy Gunn agreed with Road Dogg’s assessment that fans love seeing them together.

Gunn and Dogg won the WWF/E Tag Team Championship six times during their time with the promotion. While Gunn is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling, Dogg was WWE SmackDown’s lead writer until his departure earlier this year. He has since addressed his exit. You can check out his comments HERE.
