Rob Van Dam Shares His Thoughts on WWE Not Testing for Marijuana Anymore

During a recent edition of his 1 Of A Kind podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam discussed potentially returning to WWE again. RVD explained that he’s open to the idea, especially since WWE no longer drug tests for marijuana.

Rob Van Dam stated (via WrestlingInc.com), “Hey man. Paul’s got my number … I’m not sure I’ll pass the drug test. I gotta study.” He continued, “Everybody knows they’re not testing for weed anymore … it gets brought up to me all the time in interviews and stuff, and lately after talking about how they don’t test for marijuana anymore, they like to bring up that interview that Cody [Rhodes] did with [Finn Balor] … they want to know my opinion on that and I think that’s great.” He added, “It’s going to add longevity to their careers and their lives.”

RVD did appear live at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in December for John Cena’s final match. RVD was sitting ringside during the event, and Cena shook his hand before his final match against Gunther.

At the moment, RVD is still recovering after breaking both of his heels last year. He last wrestled at MLW Battle Riot VII in April 2025, competing in the Battle Riot match.
