Seth Rollins’ Injury Reportedly Caused Changes To This Monday’s RAW
This Monday’s episode of RAW featured several NXT call-ups but it didn’t feature much of Seth Rollins, who will main event Wrestlemania against Brock Lesnar. Rollins is said to be dealing with a back injury that he’s had since before the Royal Rumble. WWE allowed him to miss Elimination Chamber and it’s believed he will also miss Fastlane, as the company wants him well-rested before Wrestlemania. Apparently, the plan was for Rollins to be heavily featured on this Monday’s episode on RAW, but his back prevented that. Vince McMahon got to the building around 2 PM and RAW had to be rewritten because Rollins wasn’t cleared to compete.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (via Ringside News) said: “So they script the show and the Gargano/Ciampa vs Revival match is on the show and Seth Rollins was supposed to be all over the show. Okay? The show was built around Seth Rollins. Everyone thought that he’d be okay. So Seth Rollins has an L7 problem in his back. He doesn’t need surgery, he just needs rest. They thought that he would be cleared at any time and he wasn’t cleared. He’s probably not far from being cleared. He was there, but a lot of his segments that involved him being in the ring had to be removed.“
