UPDATE: Wes Lee and BJ Ray are the latest NXT talent to be released from their WWE contract. Fightful and Bodyslam.net’s Cory Hayes have both reported that Lee was released from his contract on Friday. Both have additionally confirmed that Ray was released as well.
Fightful has also noted that Jin Tala, Haze Jameson, and Summer Sorrell have all been released.
The updated list of stars released from the company on Friday are:
* Wes Lee
* Stevie Turner
* Lance Anoa’i
* Jin Tala
* Drako Knox
* Haze Jameson
* Summer Sorrell
* BJ Ray
* Jamar Hampton
Lee is the most prominent of the released talent thus far. He is a former WWE NXT Tag Team Champion and NXT North American Champion, the latter of which he held for 269 days. He was part of High Ryze with Tyriek Igwe and Tyson Dupont but had not wrestled on TV since a loss to Je’Von Evans on the July 29th episode of NXT.
Lee previously worked in TNA as Dezmond Xavier in the Rascalz, though he split and feuded with them as part of the WWE NXT and TNA crossover.
BJ Ray was a member of the first season of WWE LFG, as was Jin Tala. Tala had been part of the WWE Evolve roster after LFG. Sorrell and Jameson were part of the second season of WWE LFG and competed on WWE Evolve.
ORIGINAL: Stevie Turner has announced that her time with WWE has come to an end, making the announcement on social media. Turner took to her Twitter account on Friday evening to announce that she’s exited the company. You can see her post in full below.
Turner wrote:
“My time with @WWE has come to an end. I’ve had a brilliant time and I’m so excited for the future. see you soon!”
Turner signed with WWE back in March of 2021 and made her debut in NXT UK in April of that year. She continued on in NXT UK until the brand closed down in 2022. She had an on-and-off in-ring run on WWE NXT in 2023 and 2024 before she was made an assistant General Manager to Ava. In March of this year, she was announced as the General Manager of WWE Evolve and called herself the “Prime Minister” of the brand. Her last in-ring match was on a February NXT live event, where she teamed to with Lainey Reid in a loss to Sol Ruca & Zaria.
Turner’s exit follows the exits of other talent that has appeared on WWE Evolve including Zayda Steel and Kylie Rae.
