Thekla added insult to injury at AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door, defeating Starlight Kid to retain her AEW Women’s World Title and unmasking her after. The champion battled the STARDOM star at Sunday night’s PPV with her title on the line and heavy animosity due to the Thekla’s disrespect toward the Japanese women’s promotion.

Starlight Kid wasn’t backing down though, and she kept Thekla on her toes for much of the match. In the end, Thekla got the win after hitting a spear and two stomps.

After the match, Thekla was joined by her Triangle of Madness allies Skye Blue and Julia Hart. The two gave Thekla scissors and she cut Starlight Kid’s mask off before spitting on it and then using it to assault STARDOM president Taro Okada, who was at ringside. You can see clips from the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door match below.

Thekla has now been AEW Women’s World Champion for 138 days. She defeated Kris Statlander for the title on the February 11th episode of AEW Dynamite.
