Cody Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre in a Three Stages Of Hell match on WWE Smackdown in two weeks. It was announced on Friday’s show that Rhodes’ defense against McIntyre will be held under the Three Stages Of Hell stipulation.
The announcement was made in the main event segment of the show. McIntyre came down to offer his apology to referee Dan Engler and otherwise fulfill his obligations to get the title match against Rhodes. Despite a very sarcastic apology, McIntyre fulfilled his requirements and got his match. Cody Rhodes then came to the ring and McIntyre tried to goad Rhodes into hitting him, which would case Rhodes to be stripped of the title. Aldis held Rhodes back and McIntyre announced the stipulation. He then hit Rhodes with a Claymore. You can see video of the segment below.
The January 9th episode of WWE Smackdown takes place in Berlin and airs on USA Network and Netflix internationally.
